I know this is a really dumb question, but I don't understand it so I'm asking anyways. What actually controls how much psi your turbo boosts? If its the wastegate, then is there a way to run lower boost if a turbo has an internal wastegate for like 11psi (just for example)? Or does the BOV control that function? Like I said, newb question, just trying to figure out what keeps your boost from shooting through the roof. Thanks in advance for the help

 

you can never got below what your wastegate is set at. If you have an internal wastegate that is set too high, and it is non-adjustable, ten atke it off and go external.

search and read, and then search..... and read, you will learn things better than if everyone gives you a half-assed answer on everything.

if you wastegate is set at say 5 psi and you want to boost 7. You have to two choices without getting a new wastegate

1)adjust it manually. Some wastegates can be adjusted

2)get a boost controller. Electronic or manual
