Help bleeding coolant after Fluidyne install
OK I know this isn't strictly FI but who else uses the big radiators??
I just put my fluidyne in last night, filled everything up, added coolant while idling with heater on until it was full, capped it, drove for about 10 min after it warmed up (although I'm having trouble getting it warm enough to open the t-stat). Let it cool down, added coolant.
Drove to work this morning and within 10 miles the temp gauge PEGGED to H... drive for 30 seconds more, and it drops back to where it belongs. This repeated several times. I've clearly got some air in there; my GSR is the year after they stopped puttin a bleeder screw on the thermostat housing, so I'm wondering if anyone has any magic procedure to evacuate all air from the cooling system.

I have a magic procedure.....
Its called jacking up the front of the car as high as it will go and running it untill the air is out. Don't go to 45 degrees, but the higher the better.
It may not be magic but boy does it work well.

Re: Help bleeding coolant after Fluidyne install (RGAZ)
never had a problem bleeding without the screw - its with the screw that things get messy (ok, sorry, couldn't resist )
In all seriousness, turn your heater OFF, and open the radiator cap. Let the thermostat open, poor water/coolant, and then wait two more fan cycles. Replace radiator cap - done.
And remember, never trust anything that bleeds for 5 days and doesnt die!
