you don't need the FMU but i'd keep the FPR and Fuel pump.

was it an aftermarket fuel pump? I don't understand...hondata is just the ecu, it doesn't help with the fuel at all.

how can you run your car without a fuel pump? was the vortech intank or inline?

actually hondata controls delivery rate and amount of fuel delivered. it was the vortech FMU that came with the drag 3 kit, as well as the airtex inline fuel pump. my car gets fuel now via the stock fuel pump...the inline is a supplement to the stock fuel pump.

the purpose of your FMU is to rise fuel pressure under boost, resulting in more fuel passing through the injector. With a hondata and larger injectors, you are able to provide the needed fuel without high fuel pressures. I dont know if you had an inline or intank pump, but the inline pump is not needed anymore because it no longer needs to support high fuel pressures. I think you can get away with the stock intank pump, but i decided to go with a walbro 255 lph high pressure intank pump.

I think you meant the Walbro low pressure in tank pump with hondata.

I would still go with the walbro high pressure.

I, too, would run an aftermarket intank fuel pump with your setup. The stocker just can't flow enough safely.

nope.. he was correct when he said High psi Walbro. Walbro GSS 342 is the way to go when using a Hondata.

I'm piecing together my turbo set up...do i NEED a fpr with hondata and an aftermarket intake pump or is it just a nice thing to have? I know I'd need one with a FMU but do i need one for hondata intake pump setup?

With a Hondata a good fuel pump (Walbro or Bosch) and an FPR is needed.

With an FMU, Walbro pumps are not recommended because the fp's will constantly go over 80psi and cause some serious fuel starvation problems.

FMU = Bosch + FPR
stand alone ecu = any good pump + FPR

Holley and BBK intank units are rebadged Walbro's.
