Default Wastegate question

I have disconnected the actuator arm and the wastegate lever. In doing this, I make no boost. That was my goal. However, can anthing be hurt doing this? I think everything would be fine, but am i screwing somthing up by not boosting?
Any thoughts/opinions on this would be great. thx

Default Re: Wastegate question (turbodelsolman)

ive heard rumors about overspooling the turbo. sounds logical because there is no backpressure to slow it down and it just keeps spinning. dunno, hopefully someone smart will reply.
