Default Adjustable Internal wastegate question

I can't figure this out.

I have a .48 compressor T3 with an internal wastegate. The wastegate is adjustable and I have it set at about 8 PSI.

Here's the problem. Today the wasgate actuator bracket became loose and I started making only a few PSI. I tightened it down, and all of a sudden I was dangerously overboosting. I kept and eye on my gauge but where I was making full boost before at about 5000 RPM, all of a sudden I was making full boost at just under 3000 RPM. I liked it, but the engine would not survive long if I let the boost climb.

I adjusted the actuator and got it back to where it was, making a max 8 PSI and full boost at 5000 RPM. So here is the question: How can I limit my boost to 8 PSI but have the spool that I experienced with the wastegate actuator too tight? Please don't say an external wastegate. I want to keep the internal gate, but am willing to fab another kind of wastegate actuator onto the turbo if that will do the trick.

Okay, enlighten me on how that would work. Is there a boost controller that I can buy that will output higher pressure than is input? Because that is the only way I can see that it would do what I need.

5000rpm for 8 psi with that turbo is ridiculous. My lawn mower could spool that .48 a/r turbine faster than that Set the internal gate for like 6psi then set a MBC at 8. Might do exactly what you are asking about.

For reference my 1.6 sohc spools the same turbine in a .63 a/r to 8psi by about 2300rpm and 11 @ 3000ish with an MBC

Yes, I know the spool sucked. Basically the wastegate flapper couldn't be all the way seated and not overboost. I'm trying to figure out how to fix that.

I guess MBC's are inexpensive enough; it is worth a try. Thanks.
