i am kinda confused on what header to get for my hatch. i did SEARCH this topic so calm down before u read this. I have a comptech 4-2-1 now and its worthless i think. i was gonna get a jdm 4-1 but i have a chance to maybe get a Headertech? I also saw the Anr Header which is crazy lookin i dont even see how it would fit in my engine bay but yea so what header is the best perfomance header for a usdm itr motor? i am puttin S2S2 cams very soon with some headwork as well. thanx alot peace

 

Go with the Comptech "Race" header

 

Why is your current Comptech one "worthless?"

 

cuz its 2.25 inch and the primaries are ucking small and it doesn't make much power compared to others for the price

Well it doesnt perform very well. I was wondering if anyone had a headertech or hytech or any of those more rare headers. I was lookin on ebay and i saw an RSR header i never seen the numbers on that header neither any info or help would be greatly appreciated thanx alot peace.

I do have an Eg with a Itr motor if you want give me your email addy and ill send em to you no prob? i did search though maybe i didnt search good but i searched. i searched headertech, bseries header, hytech, and jdm 4-1. thank you for the info though peace.

Can you post the measurements you have comparing the Comptech primaries with those of other headers?

Depending upon the setup, the performance of the Comptech header is actually quite comparable to others in its class and price range.

Pretty sure the Comptech Race header is no longer offered due to the HyTech patent. It is no longer listed on the Comptech site.

I see you live in my town. Where did you get your ITR motor from? Maybe you got it from Chris' R that was just stolen.

My motor is 100% legit and i have had it for about 6 months if not longer and i bought it from a HT member here in orlando. I dont deal with stolen stuff and to be honest the only thing i ever stole before was a kit-kat bar when i was bout 8yrs old. I did find a couple threads on headers just not very good ones. I dont have a ITR but i have an ITR hatch doesnt that count? anyways thanx for the help peace.

 

Why don't you meet up with a local R owner who frequents H-T and let him take a pic of your car, you, your license plate, and the VIN of the engine.

Post a pic of your car with the drivers door open and a drink sitting on the valve cover. The post a pic of your engine VIN with a pencil being held underneath it.

The basic answer, unfortunately, is yes.

Anybody who buys a B18c5 powertrain should keep the receipts that show a chain of custody back to the original motor factor or original owner who sold the unit.

Unfortunately, it's just a part of life around here. Although things have improved recently, the B18c5 powertrain is still one of the most stolen automobile related products, and people will get very paranoid about with whom they're dealing.

If the police in NoVA open your hood and see a Honda twincam redhead motor, you'd do very well indeed to be able to pull receipts out of your wallet.

The "best deal," I think, continues to be either the OEM JDM 4-1 header with a custom exhaust, or the DC JDM 4-1 header and custom exhaust, if you can still find the DC JDM anywhere.

If you have the money to spend on a header, then nothing beats the few more expensive headers that performed well in the Great Header Test.

I have an SMSP first generation, myself, and have never regretted it.

 

Do a search for Headertech before you try picking one of those up, they've had some...problems, as of late.
