Just spend a tiny bit more, and get a brand new SMS-P header.

They're literally $1,150 for the top-of-the-line B18C5 header. Link.

For under a grand the best option is TODA.

There are alot of used parts on here that would work well here: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/2188216

I have a JDM 4-1 with heatshields and love it. It looks completely stock and works well for what I do. I have 11.1:1 compression.

Thanks for all the great info... most of that info is like 4 or 5 years old, is there anything more recent that you can tell me?

Anyone hear anything good about the Comptech header (non-race and non-$900)?

You can trust the info in those links. All the best ones are represented there. There hasnt been any major break thrus in Header technology in that time to now.

x2. our cars are 10 years old already... i doubt there's going to be any more serious new contenders making parts for our cars. as for the comptech non-race header, i'd stay away from that. you're paying a lot for a little IMO. you're paying for the brand. i had it and the primaries and secondaries were soooo small compared to others (i switched to jdm 4-1). with what you'd pay for that, you could find a good jdm 4-1 (possibly with heat shield and skidplate). under a grand and you can get almost anything used (or new)... smsp, hytech (top two choices), toda, t1r, vibrant (hytech copy, i think) to jdm 4-1 and dc sports it all depends on what's available to you used, what your goals are, whether or not this will be a daily, etc. etc.

my smsp header was cheaper then a grand including sending it to jet hot for a nice black finish. I think it was like $950-900 range.
