OT: Waiting for boost

Since I got my GSR, all I see is potential. But I have only rode in one nicely modified turbo car and it was a 95 eclipse, with a nice churpy bov, and a few other minor mods. A girl I knew, who was a "friend with benefits" borried it from her roomates B/F for the day, and came and got me. 3 Months after that I wanted an eclipse, and if i remember correctly, it was one of the reasons I started selling my Mustang.
I sit here nightly while I am suppose to be reading or doing homework just researching, and reading, trying to compile enough info in my mind. I mark on my calender when I will get Paychecks, and try and average how much they will be. I make goals for myself, have stuff installed by X day of X month. I create word files of the parts I would need if I went turbo, or if I went s/c, or if i did n2o. I list the prices I have found them, and where i found them at. Its beginning to take over my life. If it were up to me, I would be a mechanic, and work on cars, and work at a performance shop, But it doesn't pay what I need to fullfil all my wants and needs. Its a challenge for me.</TD></TR></TABLE>
I am also considering being a mechanic as a backup career. It actually pays pretty damn good to be a performance tech. All my friends get their stuff done at my house so it's already pretty much a shop. I've read so much and absorbed so much that it seems like a second degree from the college of the Helms manuals and H-T
I did screw myself with the credit though. Got carried away. One day better judgement escaped me and I just bought everything I needed cuz I got tired of waiting. Why not enjoy it now and make payments later right? Wrong. Now I'm stuck with this huge debt. At least I get to make swooshy noises and warn chicks about removing restrictive clothing when subjected to the forces of induction.
Man this isht is fun

LOL I do the same thing. Also, when i'm in school, I sketch diagrams of vacuum manifolds and turbo setups. Make lists of stuff I need and have... pretty funny

It is so great to know I am not the only one who does this stuff. Oh and Blackac26, I love that quote about the darkside in your profile, it is ****** awesome. So lets make this fun, anyone wanna list their cars, and how they woul like to set them up? Along with power goals, and where you have found parts and and what prices? We could all benefit from this. I will start.

I'm *hoping* for 250 crank hp after homegrown tuning with the wideband that's on the list. I'm already running Uberdata so I'm fully programmable. Whatever psi I have to push to get there, that's fine with me, but I estimate probably around 8psi should do it on an SC50, more on the SC32. I'm leaning towards the Precision SC32 (0.63 a/r) or SC50 (0.48 a/r or 0.63 a/r) because I couldn't give a damn about low-end performance - I drag race primarily and only autocross for fun, and don't care about street racing. I'm running a 1g B16A in an '88 CRX Si
I know it's weird to have a cheap Bosch BOV and Precision turbo with a LoveFab manifold on the same setup, but I just know I'd kick myself if I didn't splurge somewhere
I just don't want the turbo or the manifold to be the limiting factor and I'll hardly be stressing the BOV at that boost rate anyway

Good point on all that. I am just gonna keep saving, and stuff, and then who knows, i change my mind so much, it's unreal. I could get a JRSC for like 1800, and be well boosted for like 2500, but where is the fun in that? Plus i like the pretty PPSSSSSHHHHHHTT Sound!
whats the difference between saving 200bucks a month till you have the money to buy what you want; and buying what you want now and paying 200bucks to a credit card? so what if you pay like 100$ in interest, over the next year, omg 8 whole dollars a month, ahhhhhhhhhh.
-this was assuming you wanted something for 2400$, if you wanted more you'd probably save more everymonth anyway-

simple, say for the first 2 months, you are doing good, making a 200 payment without a problem. Then in the 3rd month, you can't, you fall behind, and you can't afford to pay more than 200 in the 4th month or later to catch up. Say you were also unable to pay 200 in the 7th month again, and then, guess what, your are the credit cards little bitch
It has happened to a lot of folks before, including myself. New rule for 04 and beyond for me, "If I don't have cash, I don't get it". It sucks, but need to live by it.

took pictures of them and stared at them instead of the tv ... they were great motivation for getting to work as well
