Default Turbo B series CRX Peeps

Anyone running an equal length manifold with a t3/t04 sized turbo or bigger? I have a pwr 92+ style radiator w/ place racing xmember and I still dont see how it will be possible. The radiator ends between the exhaust ports 3 and 4 on the head and have about 6 inches of clearance. I was thinking I might have to switch to a stock single core civic radiator with a slim fan. I need pictures if anyone has any. Thanks. -Nevin

If you look in this thread you can see what im talking about.

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=610095

Look how close the manifold is to the end of the radiator. My b18a is closer than a ZC I think, and my radiator is thicker. Im pretty sure It wouldnt work. Anyone have pics of this working?

Log manifold and baby turbo barley fit. Wastegate actuator is actually sitting against the radiator fan.

I had to push my radiator as far to the left as I could and still I am going to have to trim that headlight bucket slightly to get my PWR radiator to fit. Not to mention I had to lay the top back a little bit. There is another option, let me see if I acn find the link to what someone else did... BRB

If I get lucky, I may get to test fit my manifold and turbo this weekend. I've taken the radiator out and I'm gonna try to put the turbo and manifold in first, then slip the radiator in. BTW, I am using the drag III manifold, t3/to4e, hasport billets, and a fludiyne radiator.

Rob what turbo and manifold are you running? I was looking to fit somthing outrageous under my hood like this manifold:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=606502

But my only problem is that where the wg would be I have my radiator cause its farther right on ef's. I can see it working with a inline pro or any other log manifold, Im just looking for a picture with a big equal length manifold and how they have the radiator setup.

I'm running a B18C1 w/ a precision SC61E and an equal length Lovefab manifold, 25 psi crx here on the board also has a similar setup, so you might want to get some pics from him as well. Anyway, I had to kick my radiator angled to one side and make new upper and lower supports for it. This pic will give you an idea of the lack of space I have, I'll try to get some pics with the radiator in there, btw, I'm running a PWR 92+ civic radiator with a pusher fan on the outside.

The wastegate actuator.

Thanks for your help. I was looking more for a picture of an equal length that sits the turbo higher up and has the compressor on the passenger side. Do you have any pics of your car with everything in there? I was also considering slanting the radiator and making custom brackets for it.

Here's the infamous bumble bee tuna. The cleanest attempt I've ever seen of doing a turbo B-series in an EF w/ a Full-Race manifold:

Right now I am running a max-rez s/s manifols, But I just bought a Inlinepro s/s manifold and I think that I am going to put it on and redo my downpipe and charge pipes, but not right now, I just want to get it running again. In the bumble be crx pic, what rad is that? My civic half size simply just doesnt fit in that spot, its to tall.

Which side is the compressor on and what size is it?

It kinda looks like its on the drivers. If so does the turbine side come close to the radiator?

Thats a single core civic rad right?

Also what crossmember do you have and how is that radiator mounted on the bottom?

Sorry for all the ?'s. -Nevin

It's actually not my car. It is ComposiMo's old car. The compressor side is on the driver's side, and it appears to be a standard Honda OEM Rad. As far as the compressor size, and clearence issues, you might want to look up ComposiMo.

Air gets to it fine. It still has the same frontal area explosed its just turned and looks like ****.
The car has the place racing front crossmember and it doesn't come close to fitting where its supposed to.
To turn it like that though we had to take off alot of the stock radiator support and the hood latch assembly/top part of the radiator support was taken off

Hey Nevin, the compressor was mounted facing the drivers side, which does make air filter attachments interesting (had to run the HKS mushroom). As for the turbine side, the turbine itself did not come near the radiator, but the downpipe grazed it ever so slightly, but i never once had a problem with overheating, or any other adverse affects from it. The radiator is a dual-core Civic radiator, and the crossmember in the car is a stock crossmember. The only reason it fits, and works well in this application, is that i did a bit of cutting and trimming, and fabricated my own lower radiator supports. Unfortunately, i do not have pictures of what the supports look like, but they aren't too different than the one's on my current car. If you want pics of that, email me, and i'll take some for you.

And here is a bit of a better pic of the above car shortly before it went to the 'racetrack in the sky' *sniff*
