Brake Upgrade for DC2R
I am currently upgrading the brake setup on my 01"R after the front rotors warped at a long track day.. braided lines, master cylinder brace and quality race fluid i have got sorted already, but... ive heard so many suggestions as to what rotors and calipers to run. I want to know what has worked for anyone else out there who has done some brake tweaking on their R. Ive been looking at the mugen kit.. it comes with awesome carbon pads, rotors and calipers... I was not sure if this is overkill and a waste of $$... im thinking quality pads and rotors with the stock calipers will be enough (with some cooling tricks .. removing the dust plates and running ducting from the front air dam onto the rotors.) would an NSX upgrade work? will the caliper bolt on? ive also heard that Honda oddessy rotors give results as well. Some info would be great from some knowledgeable heads..

it's unlikely you actually warped your rotor unless you pulled off the track and parked it hot. it's more likely a brake pad deposit that is "catching" on the pad with each revolution. you can lightly sand the rotor to remove the deposit. are you using real track pads? i found removing the dust shields makes a world of difference for brake cooling. you probably just need more effective cooling (and cool down) and good pads for track time, but if you want the best stuff - http://www.stoptech.com
