Default Some pics of my legend calipers...

-i know some of you guys want to upgrade to nsx/legend calipers so i thought i would share this with you guys too:

well it was time to upgrade my brakes so i decided to go with the fastbrakes kit. brian is a great guy and i suggest everyone do thier brake business with him.

anyways i decided to try legend calipers instead of the type r ones. first i got a pair at a junkyard for like 80 shipped. i was going to rebuild them but after seeing how much it would cost to do it i decided for like 10 bucks more i would just buy a rebuilt caliper. they are 45 a piece at autozone and then like 60 for core. so actually they are worth more used then new haha. they funny thing is they shipped them overnight for free...if i did that it would be like 40 bucks just for the shipping.

anyways my rotors and pads came in today from fastbrakes and i got my "new" calipers yesterday. im still waiting for my "used" calipers to come in from the junkyard cuz i need some of the pieces of them to install my new ones.

anyways here are some pics: (sorry for the quality i took them with a free camera )

pad wear indicator ....when the pad gets wore out , that peice rubs against the brake, and make s a squell , so you know to change your pads

i dont know exactly what needs to be done b/c there isnt too much info on putting these on a regular integra. i think its the same as putting type r calipers but u need a few more shims. any they arent stock rotors..they are 11in ones, same as itr but in 4 lug.

Depreciation!
huh?

I mean, you're swapping out your calipers for old Legend ones... that's old! I'm sure it performs but technically you're swapping in an older part. Is it legal?

i installed legend calipers on my civic ex about 3 years ago. easy install. the only thing you need to do that is remotely difficult is to machine 3mm off of the mounting brackets. i went to a machine shop and paid them $50 to do it properly for me. make sure to mount the calipers with the bleed screws pointing "up". be judicious in bleeding the brakes. due to the slightly larger piston area the pedal will have a bit more travel, but for me, it bade the brakes very easy to modulate. email me if you have any other uestions. and a HUUUGE to http://www.fastbrakes.com as well as my bud Brian!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well since my car is a 94 and so are the calipers i dont think there is a problem
plus they are totally rebuilt so even though they are "old" they are "new"

every person that has put nsx calipers on their itr has put "old" calipers on..i dont see what the problem is.

I'm pretty sure the older part in a newer car only applies to engine swaps, specifically emissions issues and things like that.

ok im lookin at my recipt right now.

what yr calipers you lookin up? i got the 93 coupe ones. not that they are any different than they 94-95 gs sedan ones but there could be a price difference for some odd reason.

my calipers were 44.99 a piece and the core was 62.00 a piece.

also i see you live in fl. up here in ny due to the salt and **** during winter our calipers get corroded and need replacing more often. if i had to guess thats why they are more down there.

Yup from what I understand the legend caliper has a bigger secondary piston.

I think cooling on the NSX caliper is a difference.

I'm not 100% sure but I think I heard the NSX caliper is slightly lighter than the Legend caliper.

Cool upgrade, bu I did read somewhere that the Legend calipers, because they are built to be mounted behind the rotor , has to be installed upside-down on civics and Tegs And that creates uneven wear of the pads, cause the two pistons are not the same size.

(The rotor would be kinda rotating backwards , as far as I know..)

Can someone tell us if it's true or false?

On this picture it's easy to see the size difference.
