Ok Honda won't take my American Express and I need my cash for later on tonight. Is there any good brake fluid that I can find at a local autoparts store?
Yep, I agree. Valvoline SynPower. comes in a kinda gold color plastic container. good stuff for street. high boiling point. I have a couple of bottles waiting to be used to flush my system. many recommendations from different users/shops.

The quality of brake fluid is primarily measured by its boiling temperature. The higher the temperature, the better - the more resistant it is to boiling.
The dry boiling point applies when the brake fluid is fresh. Over time, it absorbs moisture, and the wet boiling point becomes relevant.
Here are boiling points for some of the most popular brake fluids:
ARRANGED BY DRY BOILING POINT:
DRY:401F -- WET:284F --- Minimum DOT3 Requirement
DRY:446F -- WET:311F --- Minimum DOT4 Requirement
DRY:502F -- WET:343F --- VALVOLINE SYNPOWER
DRY:509F -- WET:365F --- MOTUL 5.1
DRY:527F -- WET:302F --- AP RACING 551
DRY:536F -- WET:392F --- ATE SUPERBLUE/TYP200
DRY:550F -- WET:290F --- FORD HEAVY DUTY
DRY:590F -- WET:410F --- AP RACING 600
DRY:590F -- WET:518F --- CASTROL SRF
DRY:593F -- WET:420F --- MOTUL RBF600
DRY:610F -- WET:421F --- NEO-SYNTHETIC SUPER DOT 610

That Castrol stuff sells for around $80 for a one-liter bottle.
Granted, all the others sell in half-liter (or pint) bottles, but even after taking that into account, that's still about four times the price of Motul RBF 600...
