I know for some Mobil1 burns (me for example). I run RedLine just because it doesn't burn (same weight as Mobil1) and a lot of places carry it around me.
Plus it makes me feel sexy.

I'm glad you asked. It's always nice to hear new questions around here for a change.

Vegetable oil. Corn oil or canola oil works very well. So does olive oil if you want your car to stay healthy.

don't forget flax seed oil, also considered healthy for the motor.

heres some more boring info! heres another fact concerning the high temperature high shear number assigned to motor oils. hths can be considered as a measure of an oils viscosity at 150C. generally, higher viscosity oils will have a higher hths. (40wt. > 30wt.) so ill rank these 5 five oils in order of highest viscosity at 150C.
german castrol 0w-30, hths = 3.8
mobil 1 0w-40, hths = 3.6
motul 5w-40, hths = 3.57
redline 5w-20, hths = 3.3
mobil1 5w-30, hths = 3.08
"Sufficiently high enough HTHS viscosity ensures that lubrication in bearings does not suffer under high pressure and high temperatures."-moribundman, bitog.
the viscosity number printed on an oil bottle can be misleading. hths is a more accurate measure of viscosity at extreme temperatures. it is an important spec for those who are performance oriented. as you can see at 150C redline 5w-20 is thicker than mobil 1 5w-30. select a motor oil that has the ACEA A3 label which guarantees that it will have an hths of 3.5 or greater.
i like this quote and forget where it came from: "Mobil 1 formulates their oils with lower HTHS viscosity than most other oil companies because they want their customers to see better gas mileage with their oils. "

This would actually explain quite a bit, and would somewhat justify/rationalize the use of a "thicker" weight of Mobil 1 than recommended by Honda in the manual.

I am using Mobil1 5w-30 and do not burn any on the street and at my first track event I burned only a small, small amount. I am thinking og going to a bit heavier oil - 5w-40.

you may not know it but id bet when you drain your oil its a 20wt. 5w-30 and 10w-40 dino oils are the least shear stable. consider a 10w-30 dino or at least a 5w-30 high mileage. high mileage oils are thicker than regular dino and they are not energy conserving.

thats amazing, esp if its a vtec motor (which i am assuming)

Burn one quart per what?
If it's one quart per 1000 miles, I guess that's possibly at the outside/maximum acceptable.
