Same here, but walked some punk high school age kid in a 06+ Si Coupe just to see if I could
He looked back at a light and left with a heavy foot, so I walked him to 80 (limit was 70
) before I came off. Not quite a 128mph run but there wasn't much point in keeping in it. Random road races never seem to happen to me, most people don't look twice at the sedan.

this car was a 4-dr Legend that i believe had the Type II motor and 6-spd. all i know is that he got the jump on me and i downshifted into 4th and caught up and passed him at the top of 4th. then we turned off the highway and he tried it again. was in third and he didn't pull any, i just walked away. all i know is that he was fast. took me by surprise.

if i had to have a trailer/etc. just for myself, i'd get a dolly...100%! mine is shared with my company, etc.. but its basically my car trailer, and we haul scrap and big materials with it.
nick, if you want to make a far-east trip, pick a date! i'd like to head there sometime in spring or fall....fall sounds AMAZING (colors, etc)
miller is another track i'd love to do someday. maybe i'll have a good winter and go next year.
destination-track-weekends are my new favorite thing in the world

This is awesome.
butting in again. but if adam makes the trip to miller i would like to come play if at all possible. i am going to venture to say, miller's track conditions change more frequently then they did at cmp. :yikes:
Before I die I hope to at least take a pace lap around every track in America. Im a big Nascar fan and would love to drive my little import around some of the tracks they run. Big race this weekend in Sonoma. Infineon and Watkins Glenn obviously on the top of the list.
I hope to RV trip an entire year eventually. whether its in my young life and being able to drive the tracks.. or even an old tymer just spectating and following an entire season of racing. I know Nascar probably bores the britches off most of you, I just gave up on F1 with all the politics, basically followed Juan Pablo Montoya right over to NASCAR. Gotta be my favorite driver in any series. Still watch it all, DVR every Indy race, Nascar, F1, Grand am series... racing is racing to me. Im all about the pit stops in nascar, the cars are becoming so similar that there is no competition. its all strategy, fuel economy. your racing yourself with down-force basically.. still love it for now.
Great quote in the sig Egeezy, that line sticks harder than any in that pursuit video. funny how some of that video is still so relevant to our community. I find myself still showing that video to some of jdm fan boy friends! hahaa. classic.

Sauce- what's the word on the job-front? I think it's safe to say we're all waiting to see your car running.

Well, Ive been working about a 2months now with these "inventors" and things were going well.. but something in my shoulder "popped" and created a lot of pain again, while we were putting one of the motors into the pontoon. I decided that it wasn't a good idea to injure myself again just yet..(surgery was only 4months ago) and my rate isn't that great so I think I may look for some easier work for now that's just cash paying until I can get back to really moving. I have been pulling in some money off brake jobs and side things here and there, but life comes first. I am going to an Import Summer Slam event this weekend and they hold some BS bracket racing for the weekend warriors. I may actually try and win the lowest class with my daily(prelude) so I can order some lines and plumbing.. well see though, always "that guy" in some all factory automatic wagon that just bangs out the same time over and over. Its a quick 400$ if I can and that's about all I need to get her "running". Obviously Ill always want something new and some things aren't really necessary just yet so to say(seat, cage, harness). Ill be there either way to watch the SFWD cars that my buddys run and the Quick 32 is always fun.
I hope to get back to her soon, money is the main killer..Just brake lines, fuel plumbing, and a clutch line holding me up really.. and some longer rear LCA bolts. Garage sale may need to happen! I just love all my "junk! Appreciate the motivation though.. I try and tell myself its just life's way of making me want it even more. whats one more hurdle ya know. There is no one that wants to get back to work and wrenching more than me.
Egeezy, we can start with Facebook and take it slow.. hahaa. My local buds just don't relate sometimes, My area or should I say little Island I am stuck living on just doesn't offer the things I consider necessities!

yeah most of my friends don't either. some will get into f1 or indycar here or there. i have a few non car buddies who watch indycar and nascar so that is someone to talk to. i also know a guy who announces for the indy motor speedway radio station. so he is always good for the inside info on what is going on with that series. i need some ins on conti series and world challenge..and maybe alms stuff but their schedule is too limited.
here is a video of me with redstandardzcsnatch riding shotgun at expo. fast forward through the first minute and a half because i am just "warming" myself and the car up. enjoy.

So I found two problems. Hoping it may be settled in one shot. My transmission is leaking thought it was from the drain but it appears its is coming from the axle seal on the passenger side (there is q axle seal there right?) Now that's the first probelm the next is when I was about to take off the tire while it was up in the air I noticed the front wheels still spin even when its in gear. And I hear a clicking sound as they spin...
and from what I remember when its on the ground and in gear it moves forward and back maybe about 2 inches but nothing more (that's with the e-brake is down)
Any diagnosis?
And another note after laying under my car and staring for about 2 minutes at the engine I realize how much I love the simplicity of this thing. Everything and anything that ever needs to be fixed is right there in plain site. No struggle no reaching no headaches. Nothing like newer cars. In order to keep my sanity I don't think I will do anything else to it LOL

Vega_ROCKS.. it's normal for your tires to spin when in the air, if you notice, they turn in opposite directions do the differential. It doesn't move on the ground because the wheels are opposing each other when trying to "push" the car. and the clicking is also a normal noise.
To answer your other question, yes there are axle seals on both sides of trans where axles go in. They are common to go bad and are cheap and easy to replace.

So I'm looking for some insight. I've been doing reading and a lot of people who run LS motors will upgrade the rod bolts only to ARP in order to rev the motor higher (if I'm understanding correctly) amongst upgrading the valvetrain. Now everytime I have seen a tore up motor from a rod being thrown, the rod is broken in half. My question is, how are the bolts the main culprit of this issue, and not the rods, or am I completely off track here?...
Reason for asking is I'm looking to build a MILD LS... Type R pistons, stock rods, ARP rod bolts, full valvetrain, crower stage 2 cams, skunk2 IM, 68mm tb, and DC header. I figure it'd be good for a nice little power gain, nothing to wild and crazy, but swap out to some DSM's with a mild tune I think it'd be a nice DD setup...
Insight, thoughts?

IMO, n/a ls is like a n/a D series, not worth it...but that's just my opinion. price you pay for all that you could pick up a vtec head and have a nice dd ls/vtec. but i'm one of those weird people that are opposed to frankenstein set-ups.
i figured as much...one thing i have read was that the rockers are also a weak point when revving to 8k and beyond. as far as the rods go, i dunno. i've read where some people have them shaved and cryo treated to make them stronger
