does it seem like new ideas in the "meet" scene arent popping up much anymore?
my buddy nick drove from chicago for the second year in a row. man thats a long way to go for a meet. NUTS . great road trip though.
with brake lines, i check them before and after every track event. its my worst nightmare to lose brakes completely on track.
once i did. mastercylinder CRAPPED out on track, and almost whacked a wall.

I believe new ideas are far and few between mainly b.c everything is sold in a "kit" now. Everyone has the same fancy stuff, same colors, same overall scheme. Almost as if some are scared to be different or try something different. I personally am tired of the purple bays and spiked nuts already. Seems most people are building cars in a rush to meet some imaginary "get my idea out before it gets stolen" type of mentality, when the only thing different is a color.
We all have our own idea of how a car should be built.. just my view.
I give a guy like Nick more credit b/c of the one off spoiler and homemade splitter. serious rims, that sit flush! Things like that stand out to me a lot more than mis-colored bays.
Dont get me wrong I give a lot of respect to any/most car builders/enthusiasts.. some of those baller bays are insane and crispy clean.. I admire the hard work and dedication that goes into them I just tend to enjoy the function over fashion more.
yeah the spike bolts are retarded, and now a days if u voice how something looks stupid people jump on your for being a hater. Its almost like elementary school, if some one is fat u cant call them fat. Alot of nice efs in the pics of eibach, but the rest of the **** looked retarded. That downstar eg hatch look like ***, but i dare not say anything or all his nut riders will attack.
Do me a favor if my crx ever looks stupid, retarded ect, PLEASE TELL ME lol

Boosted, I said as little as possible.. but thank you for taking the words out of my mouth. Not that i fear the flaming of nut swingers. just dont want to anger an entire community! I give the guy Frank credit for selling a product and making some coin off it. not knocking another mans grind.
As for the trend he started.. Im disappointed. woulda been cooler if he was the only one with it.
How does that skunk2 "elite" deal work out.. does skunk2 just pile parts on there cars b/c of the large following?
Boosted, Im sure we will smack the rice out of you if you ever do dare.. and same goes here. show up at my door, kick me in the nuts, and drag me into traffic. Guess were just Haters.
Hey Blu, that sounds awesome.. keep us updated as you continue to update!
I do really like this guys bay though...
not sure if it was an Eibach car though.

Ryan sells the kit now. It's about 2g's...mainly because the AEM EMS is so expensive. But for $1700 I can get a TSX K24 that already has coil packs
Haha. I'm going to do this set-up on my coupe soon though.
Maybe it's my school of thought, but it's simple marketing. Give the guys who get the most attention already, guys who sell themselves, and put a bunch of your product on their rides. Boom, instant attention. I totally get what you're saying though. It happens in every industry though...just look at hollywood and fashion.
So...I'm uber excited. Just ordered something BIG for the CRX. At least I think it's big. I've never kept anything secret, but I'm going to keep this one to myself. Y'all will see it later this fall
That's all I'm gonna say about that!

No its great marketing, but im tried of watch certain people build cars for fame and not love. My crx is built out of love, not for a shitty honda tuning feature (no offense to your car nick, cause you happen to be in a HT) But too many articles read like a creditcard receipt only to see the part out before the feature.
AND now hondata sells a box to use COP on a stock (hondata ecu)

Haha. Again, very true that a lot of cars are built for fame. Some people have lower self-esteem and several other mental health issues we could diagnose them with
People like you are what I call a "true car guy." Hondata sells the box as well. Mike G's "tank" pictured on the page prior sports that set-up with the custom shell for all the plugs where the dizzy used to be.
No offense taken. Took me 8 years to get a feature

Lol im sure i have my share of esteem issues and mental heath crap from women but the car is more of an escape for me, a chance to build something that makes me happy. Thanks man that means alot. Thats why this thread is chill, some good people in here, infact i dont go anywhere else on ht.
I'm too far away from SoCal to even worry about a feature but who cares... I built it for daily fun, not the occasional show/track event. Now I'm not saying I won't have a strictly track car in the future, but I HIGHLY doubt that it'll look anything close to what is deemed "acceptable" for a cover shoot.
On a slightly related note, just landed a pretty sweet gig at a MAJOR company (everyone here knows the name) so expect to see additional monetary assets being thrown at the cars in the near future

Awesome conversation above!
Just to add on... I respect the grind put into those sponsored credit card cars but...They will never have the soul or pride that comes with any true car enthusiast, the ones who do it out of love or passion for the car. I think I like you guys b.c no matter what you all seem to stick to your guns and hold your ground on what you believe in. The soul that comes with the car and its owner make the car what it is.. I admire only a few peoples artwork.
Friends dont keep secrets Nick! hahaa but I have a feeling you'll fold! :nervy:
Whens the first event with the new splitter set-up?
Love the Friday photos. serious spoiler set-ups on all of them.. I still think your looks the most stable and solid honestly. From the looks of it each seem to have a similar style spoiler with just different bracket set ups. Is there a certain spoiler to start with a base to build brackets around or is it a custom spoiler itself? You've got my aero mind running!

On point with this convo but **** makes me not want to paint my bay the color I was going to now :/ not trying to follow a fad or am I?...
I think this was achieved.
More so just torn between colors I just don't think the color I have planned for the bay would fit the car well considering its 20 years old and the color is on newer cars :/
I just think the fad of mis matched bays may lose its cool one day, I for one like matching bays more but we all must build cars to what we desire, not what others think is right or wrong. Some mismatched bays do come out very well though so I cant say they all look shitty. Build your car as YOU want it, my only advice is to try and not follow trends, they tend to die hard.
