The Official EF Discussion Thread
if i paint my bay im doing grey, cause with black cars a black bay looks terrible. I remember back in teh day when u got your car painted and the bay didnt match people ripped on you..
Definitely build your car for your self. F*** anyone else. They don't need to drive it.
So far I mostly lurk in this thread since I only just got my CRX and nothing neat is done to it, but anyway, nice cars.
My stock '88.
Btw, does anyone have literature on these wheels? I have been told they're optional wheels for it, but have zero literature or proof on them. They're 13s, not 14s.

Oh, and I took that muffler off. There's new stock exhaust on it now.

I always liked grey bays as well, but i would never do it.
Parts arent installed yet, hopefully next week or so. I ended up getting ****ed at the border too. ****ers found out how much the **** was worth and i had to pay taxes+a penalty. now my name and car is under their system, so everytime i cross the canadian border their gonna hassle me.

i love the "body in white" road race builds that the grand-am, etc series do sometimes. they take a bare OEM chassis and start there. many times those bays are grey.
i knew i'd be wrenching/modding/etc this car forevers. the colol i used is an XO rust color...and its can be touched up with a brush. i hate paint chips in the engine bay, and its held up amazingly.
and when i move something, want a bracket gone, put new hood pins on , chip it, etc, it can be touched up in about 5 minutes, and this paint just lays SMOOTH, thick, and looks good. liveability is a big part of why i did many things on my car. i want it to look good, be unique, but its going to be getting its *** kicked until i crash it too bad to fix it, or until i die. if it starts looking haggard, that kinda sucks. gotta be able to maintain!

a bunch of areas have been touched up since the super-street photoshoot, the turbo setup is still being re-done, etc. when i was at VIR, a couple dudes came up (not honda dudes even, both older guys) and said they LOVED the engine bay, loved how simple it was and how it looked easy to work on, etc. that was neat.
in short, build it for you. i never EVER EVER EVER would have thought that this car, or our CRX would get features. i built them both on a severe budget (The crx obviously was sub 2k$), spent years getting them refined, sorted, etc. i'll always be doing that with the hatch. it did REALLY well in the rain at autobahn, i think a lot of that was because of the splitter...much better in braking zones. yeeeeaaah downforce!
I just like grey, if jollys car wasnt grey id paint the whole thing that color. lol
Rustoleum FTW
major changes coming soon, Half the stuff in these pics is sold.

To the guy with the '88 HF - I've never seen those wheels before. Sorry. Looks like you got yourself a good base to start with though. Enjoy it! I recommend replacing all the old bushings on it before anything else, unless the motor is in poor health.
CBE - where did you get the bolts for the fender/bumper/hood latch? A buddy of mine did something similar, but his bolts are rusting, so I want to make sure I get the right ones when I do that...

Since we're posting engine bays.....
I don't think that I've shown mine to you guys yet....

**Big big thanks to my good buddy fourthgenhatchb17 for all the help with the engine assembly and installation!!**
I still have a bunch of work to do, but it's finally starting to look like what I had planned in my head.

It's a fun engine. It's pushing just shy of 140hp to the wheels, and about 120-ish wtq. Not too shabby for only 1 cam and no vtec. lolIt's a Koyo radiator (EG application), and a Jimfab traction bar.
hey guys, ive had an EF for a long time coming now. and ive had trouble finding other people with EFs around my neighborhood.
i was wondering if anyone here had a nice EF setup with the USDM bumper setup. ive seen nice EF's with the traditional JDM front and they all look great but its challenging to find a nice hatch with a USDM front.
anybody here have any pics of their own ride or someone elses?
i just need to find some motivation for my hatch as i dont wanna spend all this money tracking down a JDM front.

mine has a USDM front. it doesnt have anything nice, fitment-wise, because i take it apart and pull chunks of tire out of it once and a while, or take it apart to pull the engine so i dont damage the fenders.
