have a question guys,

went to a local jdm importer today lookin for a zc. They asked me what car is was goin in blah blah and i said 90 civic, they showed me what they had and when on to say that i had to change the intake manifold and exhaust mani because its different?

i was so thrown off that i just walked out cause i was so confused. Isnt any zc motor a fully direct bolt in?

And also can i use any zc motor no matter what generation? 'cause they had sum newer ones there for sale as well. seemed to be fomr an eg or ek

No worries on the bronze. I'm not a big fan of bronze on white. I do kinda like the black ones though. I've bought clutches from LSD before and always had positive experiences. Mikes(I think?) a good guy.

I swapped IM's on my sohc zc cause there is a sensor on the usdm manifold that is not on the zc. But the exhaust manifold is fine, and I know there's ways to bypass the sensor its missing on the zc, I just didn't know at the time.

I was worried about the bronze myself, the guy (I think it was Mike) took a real picture for me from an opened box and that made my decision easier. Great customer service goes a long way for me. Im not sure how hard it is to find a company carrying Kosei's, but I know I have herd a lot of horror stories about people buying rims so I went with the safe bet.

Good luck and let us know what you decide on.

Well I found koseis and the rpf1 on tirerack at a good price. LSD has buddy clubs too...I don't even know if I'll buy wheels yet. I'm just exploring options and checking prices at this point.

RPF1's x100. When I sell the Wago next month and start looking for 4-door GSR's I'm buying silver RPF1's fo sho. I want this one sooooo bad http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/1605354840.html , but I have to wait just another month or two.

oh, and fyi, my pops had Kosei's for about a year before he realized he wanted RPF1's. The Kosei's are GREAT wheels, but the RPF1's can make any car look "hard."

Indeed, time for a repost.

LOL I know way to many people with RPF1's, but its all for the right reason. One of the lightest wheels out there.

there was a carbed zc, maybe thats what they were talking about. look on the back of the head near the intake manifold there will be a open hole for the fuel pump drive. you can use the carbed zc but you have to block off that hole and swap manifolds like they said. the obd0 PGMFI zc is a direct replacement for a d16a6. the obd1 zc is a direct replacement for a d16z6. I have a obd2 zc. its like a y8 with a y7 head (little hotter cam) comes with a y8esque intake manifold. either this or the obd0 is your best bet as far as a direct swap.

I've ordered from Tirerack a couple times and had fantastic service and shipping. Plus ordering the tires at the same time as the wheels saved me $50-65 on mounting/balancing because they throw that in for free.

I love the Kosei's so far, but I'm going to have them powder coated in white later this year. I couldn't find them in white, may be discontinued. I am dying to have white on white.

yah thats exactly what they showed me, a carbed one, but i was under the assumption that there was pre-obd fuel injected zc's. but anyways, you say you have the newer zc, cant i just use that motor complete with the stock wiring in the car?

there were pre OBD dohc zcs I know. the 86-87 integras had a d16a1 that was pgmfi but had vaccum advance. yessir, you can either run the obd0 manifold as it sits, just swap it on. or run the y8 manifold (make sure its a manual) have to use a obd1 TB tho. and add a IAT by drilling a couple holes. but a pm6 obd0 ecu will run it very well. Im using the y8 manifold, a b18b tb, a d15b7 obd1 distributor, and a p06 ecu.

Well...shipping there and back would cost me about $110. I'd have to dismount then remount and balance them. I think by the time all that was done I could have had them powder coated for just a little more. I'm hearing about $50 per wheel.

$50 a wheel is a damn good price. The usual price I'm given is $75-80...add another $25 per wheel if they're already powdercoated because they have to be chem-stripped.

I'm pretty sure the white K-1's were discontinued, but white would look great on your car.
