It's not bad, just some quarter rust because it had those stupid rubber strips on the wheel wells for 20 years. The interior is MINT. Not even any bolster wear on the seats.

It's just a loaner, plus the sedan owns my heart.

Perhaps. If I ever repaint the sedan I would seriously consider the teal from the EF Si's. A sedan in that color would be amazing.

Keep it...just watch out for falling trees, rocks, cars, pianos, planes, weather balloons, tool boxes, appliances, toilets etc.

And park it at the far end of every parking lot.

Enjoy y49 ownership

You left out the part where the transmission puked fluid all over the hot header after you did a nice pull through 3rd and it almost caught on fire. How about the time I drove it across town with oil blowing all over the windshield because the rag plugging the valve cover stud hole blew off even after I duct taped it on. The car was trying to kill us, either by blinding me with oil, trans fluid fire, or blunt force trauma by hood. The kid who bought the motor out of it blew it up maybe a month after he bought it. Even the motor was cursed just from sitting in a Y-49.

"19 year old male passed away Friday night in Moore, OK after his Y-49 CRX's hood blew up, splashed oil on the windshield and then caught fire causing the car to careen down a hill full of land mines."

Yeah, It was pretty cool. Got to the track late and they had filled all the spots for racing, I happened to have my brain on me though and found a guy who had a tech card just so he could park in the pits and I convinced him to sell me it! So with about 5 minutes before they called my bracket I was in tech inspection.. made it by the skin of my teeth to qualify.. and did it with a loaded cooler in my trunk! (by accident of course) Ended up winning my second race and moving on... but lite rain on and off slowed down the show and they cancelled the bracket racing. Still got a voucher for a free track day though! All and all... it was fun, not a fast car.. but the experience of it was cool. Wish I had more time to master it.. may have to go back when an event isnt going down. Heres a picture I found on there site.. Im the flat black crx in the middle talking to my girlfriend wearing the mint colored tank-top.

Gotta say, out of all the Honda's there (it was a honda/acura only event) the EF guys were the best, offering advice back and forth, even when a guy broke on the track, 4 of us waiting to make our runs hoped out of our cars and were shooting the ****, helping each other with stuff, good people. The EG/EK guys just sat with a pissed off face. Happy to be in the EF family.

Driving it brings back some memories. In 2004-2005 I had an '89 Y-49 Si that had been repainted to white, but the curse remained.

Awesome pick up man! why only temporary? Im guessing due to size of car and size of family. Good luck with it, crazy to think we both have had a Y-49 hood fly up on us... If thats not a curse than I dont know what is! I think you'll be fine though... You show it love, it'll love you back! Y-49's have emotions, they need proper handling to scare the ghost's out!

So you're saying the Y-49 curse is like a woman? Treat her well and she'll take car of you, treat her with disrespect and she'll super glue your ******* to your leg in your sleep?

Yes, only temporary because I have to be able to move the kids occasionally. I hope to have a real daily this week. I don't want to rush the swap in the sedan because a lot of the detail stuff I want to do can only be done while the motor is out. I'm going to just suck it up and spend the money on a quality daily so I can take my time on the sedan swap and then keep it garaged once it's finished.

Does anyone in here have free Carfax going right now?

You sound like me man. I always had a 198X something until I broke down recently and bought 2-years used. Sucks to have a car payment on something I'm putting 40,000 miles/year on.
