OK I'm going to try some random things here.
Ordered a Mishimoto fan switch which will kick the fan on at 175. This is the cleanest way to do it without running wires.

Ordering the Spal 13" fan as well, hopefully those 2 will help out my small issues.

Keep an eye out in the for sale forums, only took me a month or so to find a set. Now getting them to fit right... that's going to be the hard part (or so I hear, I haven't fitted mine yet).

Even these are hard to find now?! I got a set forever ago from a place called Revolution auto. Did have to cut them a little to get them to sit correctly enough.

Are the thin moldings still rare? I have a fresh set in the basement.

There is but not telling you if you are going to use that aweful intake
Seriously that intake sucks and costs tooooooo much!
Velocity stack and a 2.5 - 3 inch pipe.

Yes, there is.

If you get a smaller battery and a relocator kit, you can mount it in the lower frame rail like this:

Size: 101.3 KB

Or, you can mount it flat like this:

Either way it should clear the "whale *****" intakes."

Like Kyle posted, it can definitely be done. There's a PasswordJDM CF battery tie down for sale on g2ic right now actually. Although I'm very skeptical as to the structural rigidity. If the battery box is made only of carbon w/o any form of metal support it does not seem like a very good idea to have it held in place by only two bolts. That potentially puts a lot of strain on two places which are only thin carbon. I'd want to use all 6 mounting holes, or at least 4.

The password battery tray:

I just bought some within the past 8 months. Took me a month or two to find the set I wanted and during that time I found 5-10 different sets to choose from (and even 2 sets of real Mugens). If you look, they're not that hard to find.

Nope, there are a bunch available. There was a drought around 2004 when we thought they were all gone, but there's a surplus now. I've had a set in the box for years now and another set I'll hopefully be putting on when I get some time.

yeah, it's the same battery mount as all the others posted - there are a handful of manufacturers which make the same style mount for the PC680. I'm not sure how his is mounted, but I would guess it's mounted to the stock battery tray in some fashion?
