finally got out from under my h2b civic. It was a lateral move so now i gotta get rid of the trade car. Then its on to tearing apart the DB1 and putting on all the parts i've been collecting for it.

well just picked up a jdm b18c5 99 dc2 engine,intake,power fc etc...problem is my DA6 is obd0....will i have to convert to obd1 and then use a convertor harness to obd2 or is there a way to go straight to obd2?

no, i traded him. he's cruising around in my h2b eg hatch. Well i guess not at the moment because he got attacked by his dog the other day. Young kid but he's pretty cool.

 

theres no difference in the obd2 system besides a few emissions controls. in the dc tegs you can lift a 01 engine right out harness and all, and drop it right into a 94 and plug and play.

all your going to want to do is sell the power fc(hard as hell to tune). then convert the car to obd1 on a chipped ecu and run a itr map.

LoL yes! Heck even Vafc's are a thing of the past now with other, better EMS's being so affordable now.

I remember back in the day tuning my nitrous setup on a VAFC.

 

man i had my built ls/vtec running on a vafc because my tuner was down. it held it together til i got tuned but now on crome its a beast. im about to go to neptune on my boosted delsol

 

i'm pretty sure Dave still uses VAFC today.

Just has either a battery or alt. issue at the moment. I drove it home and it dies when i turned on teh radio at teh stop light. It wont start on its own but if i jump it it fires right up on the first crank. Was thinking the battery might be old. Its an odyssey battery and only putting out 220 cca.

Lots of people in the DSM camp still using AFCs but they can only go so far. Personally I'm against them because there's better cheaper options out there.
Plus most tuning software is so damn user friendly these days too.
