i thought i remembered someone talking about a hx50 conversion on the hx35 somewhere in this thread, so i thought i would ask.

the hx40 upgrade is just the comp wheel and housing correct?

Here's what I did, hacked the flange off the elbow and welded the downpipe to it. 3.5" may be a bit much for a single cam but it looks good. And after all the work now there's a guy on ebay selling flanges.

I just ground it off on mine. Left enough to act as a bead to keep the coupler from slipping off.

get a 2.5" hump siliocne coupling...heat one side up a bit...and sqeeze it over the vband...works like a charm and never blew off the coupling ever!!!

otherwise id try and find a vband'd outlet...it converts straight to a 2.5" pipe outlet

ok, please dont flame me for what i post, i've just read for like the past 2 hours about hy35 and hx35 turbos, and i still cant find an answer.

anyone have actual specs on the turbos? ive seen different people say either .42 or .48 and up to .63ish on the 9cm housing

im shooting for a 400 whp on my y8 build, i was originally looking at a journal bearing garrett, 57 trim, .63 ar, until i saw a local guy selling a hy35 for cheap, looked into it, and this may be a good alternative way to go.

sorry for the noob-ness, i think ive tried taking in too much information in one sitting, someone lay it out strait for me.

[edit] this may have even been covered in this 90+ page thread already, so sorry if it was, just hoping someone can cut me a break haha

hx35 would be pretty laggy on a single cam hy35 should spool quck and will meet his hp goals no problem if it was a b or k i'd suggest hx35 or hx40 and if your going all out the hx50 series

i have read a lot about the hx on a b-series, but what about us big motor guys, im running a f22/f20b hybrid, how do you think my set-up will compare to you b18 guys? theoretically i should have a quicker spool because of my bigger displacement, but it is rather low compression. i recently sold my t3/t04e 57 trim and was looking to make more power.

hx40 would be a nice upgrade for u .. u can get them with a t3 or t4 turbine<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by h23isnotabigblock &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">i have read a lot about the hx on a b-series, but what about us big motor guys, im running a f22/f20b hybrid, how do you think my set-up will compare to you b18 guys? theoretically i should have a quicker spool because of my bigger displacement, but it is rather low compression. i recently sold my t3/t04e 57 trim and was looking to make more power.

you dont think the 40 will be too big? the car will be mostly just a fun street car, and i was afraid the 40 would be laggy, and i think i will run out of fuel for the power that turbo has, i only have evo VIII 560ccs. i dont want to have them overworking trying to keep up. also what kind of spool time do you think i will have?

thanks
Eric
