Hi Fella's

New to the site and "Hello" from the United Kingdom

I have been keeping an eye on this thread for a while now, got some good info about these Holset turbo's

I currently run a Nissan Pulsar GTiR, and I'm looking to use a HX35 on it.

I would like to know, what sort of spool up you are getting, ie what RPM do you start seeing positive boost, what RPM do you hit full boost and what engine size are you all running.

Thanks.

Dan

roughly 1.9L
89mm stroke 81.5mm bore

boost starts to come on around 3400ish....full boost (15psi) around 4200ish...that is w/ a 3" open dp

Got mine up and running, this thing spools amazingly fast for its size. I'm very happy with it

It looks like I will be having a 84mm sleeved LS/Vtec, a 81mm built LS/vtec and a 81mm GSR w/ HY35s to tune in the next month. I'm thinking of using the 84mm sleeved motor to see how far this turbo can be pushed. Looks like a good season for Holsets.

ooo ooo ooo im liking it!!!

id def like to see comparisons between the setups and numbers between the 81mm > 84mm....

im sure the 84mm will love anything beyond 15+ psi... i know my car does....anything below 10 feels not weak...but just no omfph.....once i went to 15...anything more or the street was rather just pointless...

upwards of 5.5-6k
you could always run a 9cm housing to help it spool alil....but in all reality a hx30 would be a much better fit for a d banga

1) none...it came on a few Lulls....and tractors

2) holsets dont go by a/r's youll see most of us talkin in cm measurements for housing sizes....the hx35 to my knowledge can come in a few diffrent sizes

9cm (off a hy35)
12cm (standard on most hx35's)
14cm
16cm
& 18cm.....

Thanks for the reply DrumKing15

But there must be more of you guys out there running a HX35.

I would like to know, what sort of spool up you are getting, ie what RPM do you start seeing positive boost, what RPM do you hit full boost and what engine size are you all running.

Also which HX35 you have.

Thanks

Dan.

Oh, hehe, I didn't mean has anyone heard of these. Just meant if anyone had seen that particular auction. Figured maybe there was someone out there looking for a senior design project/research thesis type deal.

Don't count me out quite yet. Gonna try to get this pulse converter stuff RIGHT before I boost 'er. I'm thinking I'm going to buy an Ostrich and Crome Pro and attempt to street tune her myself. How about an apprenticeship with you? No matter what, you'll be seeing it for the final dyno tune.

aint a senior yet...but that would be a massivly huge undertaking...i think i lost all little info on them when i reformated last time...dam viruses...but i lost it once it involved air & actuators...altho now that i think about it...maybe something like a gm boost solenoid setup in a pulse form would work...hmmm...

although in all reality..tryin to make it work on a smaller app like our hondas....finding a better spool should come in mani design (split scroll) and proper housing size...although w/ vgt we'd be able to have wastegateless systems...now that'd be awesome!

and when i am a senior believe me it will have something to do w/ my car...most of my prof dont believe me when i tell them i have a car that should make 400whp...and then i follow it up by the fact that its a honda & 4cyl....and half the people in our lab...call me "riceboy" because im always watchin vids of **** at skewl...heh...

I was told by a local reputable shop (european rape you in the *** specialty service store) that it is impossible to run a deisel turbo on a Honda motor. They said it wont work, it is impossible because it doesn't work like that. They then proceeded to tell me if, for whatever reason, it actually does spool up my block will explode. It will not be able to handle it. Is this true, and if it is should I abandon my project right now?

I can't even believe they said that. I didn't even know where to start. I didn't say anything. Don't take your car to mechanics, lol!

Go laugh at them and suggest they lower their price on muffler bearings.
