The hx35 will make that no problem. As far as spoolup on a sohc, I couldn't tell ya, don't have much xp with "ninjas."

Nice to see some Holset fans on this site. I recently bought a used HY35 for my 2.4L Cobalt SS, but tuning issues forced me to scrap the project.

I'm selling it now... so if anyone here wants a crack at it, I have it on ebay here:
http://cm.ebay.com/cm/ck/1065-...k=URL

If you have any questions about it contact me via email: ppazz1101@Yahoo.com. I tried to figure out how to post in your classifieds section, but the site wouldn't let me.

My car loves snapple! Its the best **** on earth!

and it was sood good it roasted my motor...finally got sometime going to tear down the motor and see what all went wrong....

hx35+open dp+5th 22psi spike (tuned to 15-16) = ???????

we shall see the carnage soon and hopefully find out what was causing me to lose oil

UPDATE: Sleeve #4 has a huge (4"+) crack in the sleeve but its still held together slighty by the outer coolant jacket...time to build another block for more abuse....now the question is...to sleeve or not to sleeve?

id say go w/ the hx35...its be just as good as the t3/t4's...and w/ a h22 youll spool the **** out of it...only prob is your really be on the lowerside of the efficency map since youll only be running 7-8psi....but if you go any higher youll fall right into the sweet spots

From what I understand the H1C is the forefatehr of the HX35. So, yes and no. I believe the two have very similar turbine wheels and that is why aftermarket turbine housings like the bullseye one fits both, from what a holset engineer told me the main difference is a more efficient compressor wheel on the HX35.

Most likely it would be close. More efficient is actually a very ambiguous term. It could mean larger sweet spots (islands of efficiency) or sweet spot shifted more into areas where the dodge truck would be using it at. Because after all these turbos were designed for those trucks. One would have to compare the comp maps of each to make a true determination. I'm to lazy to do that right now.......

Its been a while since I've had a turbo in my car. You can search my previous setup. Pretty basic HMT kit that consisted of Starion IC, HF mani, 14b yada yada pretty typical stuff. Went a lil different route this time. Took my time on this, I haven't really been in a rush to finish with school and my motorcycle being more than enough fun.

89 CRX si
A6/Z6 mini-me
Holset H1C
Bullseyepower SS turbine housing
made my own log manifold
all McMasterCarr oil lines
.055 oil restrictor
45 degree steel bung welded to pan
half radiator
31x9x3 ebay IC
3" DP
3" exhaust
2 dynomax race mufflers
-car sounds deep, a lil loud. gonna put a 3in turbo muffler when it warms up and i have time
2.5" cold side pipes
2.25" hot side pipes
XSpower external wastegate
ebay RFL
MBC
all radiator hose or silicone couplers
all t bolted
OBD0 w/ TurboEdit
Ostrich
slipping pepboys clutch
rollin on winter tires

Currently on 7psi because tune isn't quite finished and the clutch wouldn't hold it anyway

pics

I easily made 10psi before 4k.... BEP housing + Holset = big *** turbo with no lag

This is a great budget built setup!! Not to bad of looking manifold!!

Good job on your porject so far. It will be interesting to see what you can do at the track. The BEP housing and a holset lead to a quick responding turbo. IE tire burner!!
