2023 Acura Integra

The 2023 Acura Integra is shaping up to be a pretty exciting return for the iconic model, from what we’ve learned.

We’ve known for a few weeks now that the Acura Integra is making a comeback, which is obviously huge news for Honda fans. The big question, of course, is will the reborn 2023 Acura Integra satisfy our desire for a sporty new ride, or will it fall flat like remakes often do? Acura has been teasing certain details about the new Integra in recent weeks, giving us a few hints as to what to expect. And judging from what we’ve seen thus far, it certainly looks like a winner.

We know now that the 2023 Acura Integra will be a five-door hatchback, which isn’t a massive surprise given the success of the Civic hatch in recent years. There is a possibility that the new Integra will be sold in other body styles as well, but for now, the hatch is the only one that’s been confirmed. Acura has also given us a good look at the front and rear styling of the model, which features slim headlights and taillights, sleek, sculpted lines, and a trunk lip spoiler in a truly attractive package.

The 2023 Integra is fully expected to share its underpinnings with the all-new 2022 Honda Civic, albeit with a more potent standard powertrain. What that engine lineup might look like is anybody’s guess at the moment, but a sportier Type S variant will likely up the ante considerably, possibly with the same 2.0-liter turbo-four as the Civic Type R.

The big news, however, is that Acura recently confirmed the new Integra will be available with a proper six-speed manual transmission, much to the delight of enthusiasts. In the automaker’s teaser for this little tidbit of information, we can also hear the engine scream, and it certainly sounds like a turbocharged four-cylinder – possibly the 1.5-liter present in the base Civic and forthcoming Si – which can be had with a manual gearbox as well – perhaps with a bit more juice.

Acura is taking its time rolling out the 2023 Integra, which is no surprise given how much hype it has already generated with just a few teasers. But from the looks of what we’ve seen thus far, it certainly seems like it’ll be worth the wait.
