Function and Form coilover thread
my type2's on my s2000 are threaded all the way down in the shock body on the rears. there is no way they can thread any further. so when i adjust the preload on these, do i turn the collars up (creating more preload), or turn them down (decreasing preload)?? i watched that video about the s2 coilovers but they turned the spring perches up to make more room for the threads. since i cannot adjust height by the threads anymore, that method doesnt help me. lol can someone clear this up for me please?? thanks!
When you lower them to the max without touching the preload, theres maybe an inch or so of space under the shock to the base of the mount. When you add preload, you then have space to thread the mount higher but only so much until theres no space between the bottom of the shock and the base. Get it?

see...this is what im working with. when you try to lower the shock into the body of the bracket, it is really tough to turn. this makes me think it is bottoming out inside the mount. so how would i adjust this to get my car lower without sacrificing too much of the quality of ride or risking blowing the shock out. they are type2's btw.
"Springs are pre-loaded out of the box. Pre-load is set at 5mm. You can check to ensure that your coilovers are set properly by measuring the length of the spring. All springs are either 150mm, 160mm, 180mm, 200mm, or 220mm. Once you have determined the length of your spring, you can minus the length by 5mm. E.G. 180mm minus 5mm (pre-load) is 175mm. The spring should be 175mm on the coilover to be pre-loaded properly. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us, and we can verify this for you over the phone."
I do like how they ride but bumps are just aweful nowadays, Im just trying to figure out if its just me. My preload is stock and I actually contacted them and they said it is okay to increase the preload so that the spring is less compressed and the ride would be softer just as long as I dont change it too much.
Just installed my Type One's last night. They ride amazing and they go pretty low in the front when all the way down. Lower than the coilover sleeves that I had before.
I'll post pics up today when I get the chance to take them.

can i install ground control extended top hats on my f&f type twos does any one know or have done thise????????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????????????????
I can't see why not, as long as they are for the same car they would probably work.

Lol my bad, I meant decreasing. Always saying increasing in this thread threw me off I think haha.

I have a fairly new(bought about 2 months ago BRAND NEW) set of FF1's on my EG hatch and there seems to be a problem with the rear passenger side coilover. Everytime I make a right turn there is a knockin noise as if something was loose. I have checked multiple times to see if there is anything loose but I see nothing. But when there is someone sitting in the rear passenger seat the knocking stops. Any ideas what it could be? Thanks to anyone who can help!
