Function and Form coilover thread
They ride a lot better. I basically messed with the preload on both of them and the Type I's bottomed out like crazy, and the Type II's only bottom out when I hit a big dip. I'm certain the Type 2.5's are even better.

Yup, F2's with custom spring rates and Eibach springs.

I just finished reading that then I saw the link that was posted, same site I went to LOL ! ! ! IDK? at least they are trying to make them better when they find an issue each time. Anybody here has these by any chance?
^ If you mess with your preload then you should be able to get pretty low. And it also depends on what car you drive. Some cars go lower than others on F2's.

I really dont understand you guys needing to mess with the preload. I could never be maxed out though I could see how some people would but any more is just crazy. Your mudguards can touch the floor with these and have another inch to go. I think its like that on EH2/3 and DC2s but anything else I have heard complaints about not being low enough. Im as high as I can go and only have a 2 inch wheel gap lol! If you're on 14s you'll be tucking tire at max height lmao.
Personally I feel they are pretty stiff, they skip over a lot of bumps. Any stiffer would be intolerable for street and any softer would not do so well at the track so I guess this is really in the middle. I wish they were softer though. I think they rode great the first few weeks but now the ride just seems harsher. Maybe the bushings just got really bad from the increased stress. I am planning on doing my bushings next year. There are bumps that I simply love how these handle. I love the tight feeling and all but on road cracks and tree roots under the road bumps sux ***. Im sure they would help a lot, I can hear my whole interior make noise on bumps

I do like how they ride but bumps are just aweful nowadays, Im just trying to figure out if its just me. My preload is stock and I actually contacted them and they said it is okay to increase the preload so that the spring is less compressed and the ride would be softer just as long as I dont change it too much.

Good to know. I dont mind feeling the car move down a small amount and feel the Gs but I do mind the noise and bumpy feel.
The stiffness and intended use is like all season tires, good at everything but great at nothing. These would be good for auto-x, track or street but not great at them. They would do best in autocross IMO if you have a rear sway. Thats just how it is with trying to make something for 2 purposes. If I could solve the ride issues, I would be okay with them. They are really fun on twisty roads. Too bad I haven't really done them a lot or anywhere near the limit. Just too dangerous on the street haha.

Well in that case its pretty obvious how your car rides ;-) lol jk. You arent going to bottom out as much since theyre stiffer but if you were at a decent height to have the travel on the softest setting, would they ride better than the 1s?

EXACTLY. Everytime my stepdad rides in my car and we hit a good bump he goes JESUS CHRIST hahaha. He hit his head on the roof when we hit a rough bridge on the highway the other day too haha.
Hahaha its not all that bad actually. But when I first put them on I was riding sky high on the softest setting, and they rode like a dream. No bottoming out at all, or any weird noises. Plus I had meaty tires. Now I'm at this height with 205/40's and I can feel every bump in the road. I don't really care about bottoming out, the only thing that bugs me is riding bouncy. Which these coils do not do!

but im broke lol i geuss ill have to do research and **** with ****
