Function and Form coilover thread
k so I contacted f&f and they do got extended rear lower mounts that I just purchased off them for $50 shipped. Supposedly will give me an extra 1.5"-2" in the rear.
Thats crap that they charged you. They offeredto send me some for free, but i told em ill pick em up since i live in the same city. You should have complained about them lol. Its something they should be providing with the coils in the first place.
^^For free!!?? oh well $50 not that huge of a blow. I totally agree that these should be included with the coils. Not everyone wants to ride slammed. It also doesnt really make any sense to me why they made it so the rears go lower than the front.
Ya its just you buy them expecting them to fit right, but instead they make you pay more to fit right. I believe one of the workers there told me something about them all being the same size? the only difference was all the lower mounts. But dont quote me on that as its been a while.
ya for sure, they should be good to go right out of the box. So they're probably sending me a pair of lower mounts from an ek or something. Now I'm even lower, I'm probably lower by another 1/4" from them settling =/

I have a question above is a picture of my car and how low it is. What setting do you guys drive on for daily driving I payed alot of money for these coilovers and they are bouncy as hell even on the stiffest setting. I have funtion form type 2's
No dynos because it doesnt make sense. First off owners wouldnt care because they are meant to be daily driven and it doesnt matter much. I would like some but hey, oh well.
The other thing is that no 2 shocks are the same, if they provided us with a dyno sheet, then it would not be true to our specific shocks and wouldnt mean anything. If they were to dyno test every shock they sold, the price would go up a lot.
These arent the best but they are pretty good for what you pay, its hard to beat them with any coilover of the same or similar spring rates. Its a lot easier to make a soft shock. Why do you think racelands are all super soft? Because they have cheap shocks and thats the only way it will last and even then they blow in under 6 months. My friend has been through 4 sets already
Dont judge without testing them is all Im saying.

But on the other hand, testing is pointless cause no two shocks are the same.
Never mind the fact that shocks by quality manufacturers (Koni etc) do have pretty repeatable dyno results among different samples.
Bottom line, these shocks are not that great. And for what they are charging, from the 1s to the 2.5s, you can do better.
For 1200, why would anyone get Type 2s over Koni/GC?
For 600, why would anyone get Type 1s over Progress coilovers, which are known for quality?
I just want people looking at these to check out all the options before they commit.
audi nimbus grey was what i was suppose to paint my car last year haha. the wheels on your ride is what caught my eyes right away. nice setup.
you can get koni and gc's for WAY less than 1200. and I paid about 500shipped for my Type1s. I've never seen anything about progress being good or bad. so not really on my radar. I'll buy these or D2s for every car I'll ever own. I have D2s on AP1 S2000 and 99 CL, and FFType1s on my TSX.
Damn sexy car. Clean as hell.

I have had these for over two years. I have adjusted them on occasion, and never had any seized threads. They have always been able to spin freely, have never seized, and have never slipped. I live in New England, and drive year round, through whatever kind of weather.
Glad everyone is having good luck with thier f2s. After 6 months, one of the front's dampening is stuck near 0 setting. Basically whatever + or - direction i click the **** the dampening stays the same.
(i only adjust em once a month if that). Sent it in for the 365 day warranty. Hope the damage is covered

Same with my type 1s 2+. Nice teg BTW.

Speaking of winter, wish they had a greater range of adjustability without messing with the preload. When raised almost at the highest point it's still fairly low.
