LOL, and someone else posted it here. Honda boy prooooblems.

Well here is my bolt in cage for anyone who cares. Please excuse the mess as the car is literally getting ripped apart. It isnt bolted in yet just mocked up.

These a pillar bars is what i was talkin about earlier, i wish they were hugging the dash better.

I also have a bar that goes from the top of the hoop to the bottom passenger side A-pillar bar that i might throw in for track days. Now, I need harnesses and buckets. Anyone got a sunroof delete? i might rip that out as well.

Comments/criticism welcome as i dont know much about cages.

Please don't actually bolt that in to your car...

Looks like a skull fracture waiting to happen. Sell it to some ricer and use the money to buy an Autopower roll bar (not cage, just rollbar).

When you drive it around town occasionally are you going to wear a helmet? If not, that is 100% dangerous in the event of an accident.

Take a heavy wall steel pipe and have someone smash you across the top of your head with it. Report back with the results.

Listen im very aware of the dangers of running this on the street, as a matter of fact im considering taking everything out from the driver seat forward when its on the street. Since its a bolt in it would take like 10 minutes. Or not running the 6 point at all and just run the 4 point period.

I'm asking for opinions on the cage itself and how its constructed. I dont need a lecture on street use trust me i do my research on EVERYTHING, and im aware of the dangers and have read the stories.

I wasn't trying to be an *******, promise, just would hate to hear about you getting hurt badly when you could have likely walked away unscathed.

The cage itself doesn't seem to hug the roof line or pillars very well and from what I understand the cage won't be as effective in the event of a rollover if it is that far away from the factory safety structure of the car. There is nothing tying the two rear bars together that go in to the trunk area. Most weld in professional cages have an X tying them together or at least one lateral bar. From the picture of the driver's side floor board the base plate looks kind of thin also.

Thanks for the input. I see what your saying in terms of hugging the pillars, but one thing if for sure is that it hugs the roof very well. It actually kisses the roof.

In terms of a bar or "x" connecting the rear down bars im not sure of that. I see alot of cages without them and alot of cages with them.

Cage fits like doo-doo. Is that a Kirkey? Looks like it. I second the motion to purchase an autopower. Hoops don't hug body lines and those rear-stays are a no-no.

And who cares. I drive my CRX twice a month on the street. It's getting a full cage soon (probably by March/April) and I WILL roll around the street without a helmet on. Not because I'm gangster, but because I have accepted that risk and choose not to mitigate it by wearing a helmet while I drive. I will instead enact other safeguards like wearing my harness correctly and not driving like a douche (the next person that says, "what about the other douches?" gets internet pistol-whipped).

edit: And yeah, I'm grumpy. My CRX isn't done yet.
