Is there a catch with the free mags?
I'm really frustrated with my car right now. I bought a Z6 harness and sent that along with my OBD0 harness to Ryan so he could me the conversion, plug-n-play harness. Since I completed the swap, there was the near-fire incident, which ended up being a problem with one of the plug/sensor connections, and I'm still having problems with the temp gauge not working. I thought I traced it back to a loose connection on the little metal plug that attaches to the sensor. I went in there last night to fix it, but the more heat shrink/loom/electrical tape I removed, the more cracks I found in the wire. I was under the impression that part of the process of building the conversion harness was to examine the whole thing for problems like this. I know Rywire has to work with what they are sent, but obvious broken/cracked wires should not be loomed up and returned to the customer. I'm pretty paranoid that there could be another near-fire or actual fire.

I think he was referring to the fact that there is no DPFI option.
I completely understand why they don't want to use brittle, old harnesses anymore. It just royally sucks that I've got $300+ already in the harness and I'm going to have to spend at least that much again to have a safe wiring situation.

Not sure if sirius....
His original reasoning for not taking donor harnesses, from what I recall, was that "the quality of these old harnesses were getting worse and more often than not needed to be completely redone anyway". I don't see how moving away from that statement and strictly back to MPFI harness that are 20+ years old solves that problem in any way.

Well, you don't send your MPFI harness to them anymore. The kit he sells is an add on to whatever you already have so if there is a problem with your harness, it's your problem.

Matt- You know him personally...I vote for explaining your situation. I bet he'll cut you a deal on a new harness. That's just a bet though and not a personal guarantee
Meh, I don't really know him. I let him and Chase crash at my house one time in their cross country trip and that's about the extent of it. I'll send him an email, though.
Here's a pic of how the EG6 box is mounted. I drilled a hole through the sheet metal and put a nut on the bottom side.
Have you guys seen this?

Even the Crome chipped ECU I got I'm unsure of... its kinda one of those *fingers crossed* things. Is anyone even using Crome anymore?
I myself should have either waited or put more thought into it before ordering. Live and Learn.
Hope you get it all worked out. Ryan seems to be a good guy and an even better business man so I'm sure he will do the right thing!
Basically, Ryan told me these types of problems are why he builds them new now and I'm welcome to order a new one from his site. So I either drop another $300+ or try to fix it myself and hope nothing catches on fire.

BUT, I'm hoping to go COP soon.
Even now.. I have a sub-harness I made after for gauges which I wish was incorporated originally.
