Alright who feels like getting into a discussion/debate? Ive been thinking about doing a mild build on my zc (NA) cuz i cant afford a swap right now. One way to make car lacking power faster is making it lighter, soooo

LETS TALK WEIGHT REDUCTION.

List some tips and if possible, the weight saved by adding lightweight products or removing heavy oem items.

I weighed all of the heater bits when I removed it...and I mean every last bolt and sound deadening piece. It was 25.xx pounds. Other than stripping the interior...you're going to have to spend money to save weight:

- FAL windows
- Lighter/custom bumper supports
- Lighter doors
- CF hatch
- CF hood
- sunroof removal
- etc.

Have you put some sort of sealant on the rusted parts to keep them from running on the white paint when wet?

I actually thought about drilling large holes in the stock bumper supports, is that a stupid idea?

My problem is i wanna keep my car somewhat streetable, and i have power windows that i refuse to let go of lol But i know that one day if i wanna be real competitive i gotta make sacrifices

when that time comes, you buy an 88 HF and gut it... I say dont sacrifice your car just to gain a tenth of a second in the 1/4.

I havent seen many EF's with carbon hatches.. I have seen them for sale. I wonder why that is.
Anyone with FAL windows? I remember reynard's pepper white crx had them in. I hope he still has that car.

Dont forget your own personal weight could play a part too!! I know I could use some weight reduction after all these holidays!

no, Ive considered it but i don't want it to look shiny, perhaps some flat clear if i do but I'm still a little unsure, it should be done rusting now that it is completely covered, and all the nasty rust runoff that was on the rear of the car happened in the few weeks while it was in the process of rusting ( i sprayed salt water on it periodically to speed the process), its repainted now which is why it looks so much better, but like i said i believe its rusted as far as it will, that is to say when you rub your hand across it now, it is no longer yellow after, so I'm going to give it some time and see what it does, if it gets bad again i will probably break down and spray on several layers of flat clear on it but i hope that i won't have to

ok on some serious, i know i said that i was wanting a b18c with a turbo(done to death) but I've had a change of heart, i think i want to build an all motor built d15 with a d16z6 head, obx itbs and stage one cam (and lots of other goodies to make it a sick little 1500cc)

so anyway the first step i think will be a mpfi obd0 conversion, i think this should be first so i will have some time to drive my stock d15 for a while with it to make damn sure that the mpfi swap works correctly, I've done a good bit of research but if there is anything i missed could someone please fill me in

first off I need
a mpfi intake manifold with throttle body and fuel rail
all injectors with plugs and as much plug harness as i can get
an injector resistor box with its plug and ample harness
a mpfi distributor with plugs and ample harness
an si throttle cable
new manifold and distributor gaskets
and a pm6 ecu and a pin out diagram (which I've all ready made for my self)

and of course and engine harness wiring diagram, which i already have

I jus checked, i dont think fal makes them for the hatch. Im probably gonna do custom. Vis makes a nice cf hatch that i would love to do with lexan as well but their big coin.

that would be nice but i see the possibility in the near future to be getting a 90 crx and I will more than likely do a built b18c in that car and track it, but my sedan is a daily and I'm building it to have character, even if it is barely making 200hp, I just think that a little loud as hell b15 with velocity stacks and a clean as hell engine bay is the right choice for this build (obnoxious and noticed by everyone everywhere)

Hit up redstdhatch, they used alot of nice tricks on gutty. For one drilling the center of tranny to block bolts to reduce mass.

I wish someone would make a carbon fiber roof cap for the crx (and not be a scammer), I really want to delete that stupid thing.

It's been forever and a day since I've posted in here. I'm sure boosted_chemist is done with his whip by now. (yeah that long). I've got the EF blues and have been contemplating selling the s2k to get back into the EF scene
