It's good to see that the So.Cal EF/ED community hasn't completely gone to hell like the rest of the hondas with all this low offset stuff

so basically you just pay to go and look at the cars that are entered in the show and the cars that are raced? do you pay one price to watch the drags and see all the cars or is it all priced separate?

Yeah, I believe so. I plan to go Saturday all day, hope to get to the hotel around noon, eat and head over to the track. just time trials on Saturday.. watch the guys get the cars set-up. I wanna get there for Saturday so I can buy a 2 day pass and just scoot in late on sunday!! Atco's Honda day earlier in the year was a mess and I turned around before I even got half way. Proper Planning this time around. really hoping my buddy brings his car out, he runs in SFWD against guys like Miller, DynamicPerformance,TGR.. hes small time, no sponsors, but he runs good and we support him! Hope to see ya there..

In good news.. I found the most sought after EF part.. EVER! hahaa.. Front bumper Foam from a 91 Si.. I know its not really needed.. but Its the only piece I really claimed to be missing from my build. My stock one was broken in half and the 88-89 front bumper foam from my beater is different.. found a guy on CL selling a bumper door caps and the foam for 60$ so I went and grabbed it. Figure I can use the spare bumper to fab up some things like an air dam/splitter so I dont have to attempt it on my fresh painted one. Been looking for this foam for a while now!

middle is 88-89
bottom is my broken 91 one..

Ive gone to Honda Day since they started doing it.. and probably go to Englishtown 4-5 times a season. Always a good showing and has only gotten larger as the years go on. Not gonna lie.. it can get ricey! but there is the handful of good stuff and the racing is always good. Usually ends up being the bigger name company's in the Finals but still fun to watch any racing and see a group going crazy in the pits trying to get a car back together. Sunday will be the bigger day for sure. One price is everything, car show, drag racing, bikini contest(skanks) sometimes there will be hydraulic competitions or bmx stunt guys, Ive seen some music performances there too, pretty much a handful of **** thrown in around a drag strip. Something for everyone. I usually put my car in the show just for that VIP parking spot! ahhaaa.

Here is the finals from Atco's Honda Day earlier this year.

So I've got a question for you guys. Driving today and noticed nothing irregular. Then POOF! Coolant splatters all over the windshield. Immediately I turn the car off and pull to the side of the road. Pop the hood and I see the top radiator hose popped off. It didn't burst just came off the neck. Scratching my head I take off the radiator cap and find out it broken. Run over to the auto parts store throw in some coolant pop on the new cap and going on my merry way...

Get about 5 blocks down the road and the temp gauge was in the red so I pulled into a gas station. Top hose looks like its ready to burst. Let it cool and pop the cap off start the car and squeeze the hose with the heater on and I feel nothing... cap on I feel what felt like bubbles as if the water was boiling. Any help on the diagnosis??...

Was there a difference in temp between top hose and bottom.

Cause that sounds like water pump to me not circulating water.

If you see the temp rise again, throw on the heater all the way and roll down the windows that will get ya home.

It is either that or you have a stuck thermostat.

If the water pump isn't circulating water, turning on the heater isnt gonna do much. But in the event that your thermostat is to blame, that should do the trick as it bypasses the thermostat anyway.

Your thermostat is stuck shut most likely and coolant isnt flowing through your radiator causing your motor to overheat. . You can test it by just removing your thermostat, but in winter you should be sure to put it back in.
Make sure to use Coolant, Using water can cause problems as well.. Water can get very hot in there especially during these hot summer days.
I would replace that and the coolant hoses along with some new fluid.
Good that you turned her off immediately, really could have caused some damage internally.

Thanks guys. And yes as soon as the coolant blew onto the hood I shut the car off, I'm already dealing with a car my mom overheated, I don't need another! lolz. Towed the car home because I had no tools but I did get home and pulled off the Thermostat and sure enough, it was stuck closed. So new T stat and hoses are now due. Luckily I live in CA, so winters aren't too big of a thing, but I do like my cars running as they should. I thought the issue was going to be more serious, but luckily it wasn't.
