Thanks guys. And yes as soon as the coolant blew onto the hood I shut the car off, I'm already dealing with a car my mom overheated, I don't need another! lolz. Towed the car home because I had no tools but I did get home and pulled off the Thermostat and sure enough, it was stuck closed. So new T stat and hoses are now due. Luckily I live in CA, so winters aren't too big of a thing, but I do like my cars running as they should. I thought the issue was going to be more serious, but luckily it wasn't.
Any of you guys run the ATI pulley damper???
I have heard endless good/positive reviews about it. Pricey yes, but when it does its job price shouldn't matter! I have 2 friends running them on Turbo'd SFWD hatchbacks, Making over 6-700hp and no problems. Will be my first purchase as soon as funds allow. I believe there are 2 different options depending on what accessories/options you plan to run as well.
i use a Fluidampr (got it cheap, then had it modded to work with my oddball swap)

painted my car today. left home at 2 am, drove 2 hours to Elkhart Indiana, to a racer-buddies body shop. he always goes in mega early on sundays to fiddle with personal stuff, and we sprayed my car in his awesome downdraft booth. i had done most of the prep work, and we werent looking for perfect, just mostly perfect. had it all apart except the door was mounted, as i hate mounting doors. all gromets, handle, mouldings, etc were off. looks factory now.

got back at noon. we baked it in his booth, then in the sun when i got home. went so well. so pleased. better than it was before the wreck on track. started popping parts on this afternoon...i need a new (ish) door moulding though, the rear screw was rotted and broke. i can make it work, but will look for a newer one first.

i need a buddy with a spray booth...well if all goes as planed i will mmmmuuuuuhhahahhaha
on a side note, i know my valve seals need replacing, could that be the culprit on the reason why i have oil on the threads of 3 my sparkplugs? no oil on top, save for one.

yeah, smokey after leaving a stop sometimes, or after sitting for a bit idling?
whoring more pics in pretty much the only thread i check on HT.
on trailer ready to leave scotts shop...

scott laying down the 3rd coat of clear. thats right...prep, taping, paint, and 3 coats of clear and drying in less than 5 hours. real paint guys are neat. that would have taken me a week worth of nights and would have been full of bugs.

took a break from taping to take a pic because scott is way better at it than i was. turns out 20 years of body work and owning your old rad shop will do that.

little shot of his shop. this dude is a HUGE gm-nut, and has two niches nowadays.
1) smoking tailights. people LOVE this all over, especially SUV guys. he has a whole website devoted to it, and he does it pretty much every day.
2) putting Grand-national turbo v6 engines into everything. there was a GN there, a mustang, a skylark, and a camaro with GN engines in them. one runs 9's, one runs 10s, and the rest run 11s. oh, and a turbo Ecotec Dunebuggy with paddle tires. and a turbo maxima he dailys. and a WILD typhoon his wife dailys. and an old turbo jimmy (he builds turbo setups...see a theme here?) his wife used to do 4 wheel burnouts with. and a 500 WHP evo, and a crazy wrx wagon. and a sweet 34 ford rod hes doing a full build on. and an LS1 powered chevelle wagon hes building to take to West Michigan Honda meet so he can try road-racing.

yeah when sitting idle for a while it smokes. sometimes at long stop lights. just wasn't sure if that was causing the oil on the spark plugs. i've have some supertech valve seals that i've had for some months now, need to get someone to put them on for me
i know when i someday meet blu, i'll call him blu...and nothing else.
i typically hate screenames in real life and addressing people on the internet also. i thought up this stupid name 10 years ago. i dont like it, but i dont want to change it either.

I have an oil leak that's growing near the pulley (CTR). I'm going to pull it, replace oil pump, replace main seal, and then bolt on an ATI dampener pulley. Either it's a main seal, or something else...and I don't want that something else to be a failed oil pump resulting in a blown motor
Especially since I'm hitting the track A LOT more.Awesome. I'm pretty much sold on the dampener. $300 worth of insurance I guess. Car looks great! Can't wait for some wekfest pictures!
Hahaa, lets keep it to Sauce! Alias: Dan.
I don't believe I know anyone's real names.. haven't met many of you in real life.
See names in mag's or photo's but dont keep track much.. Your cars are more important!!

My next time out is this weekend at CA Speedway. After that I'd like to get on a once-a-month schedule, going between Buttonwillow, Willowsprings and CA Speedway. When the cooler months hit, I'd love to try out Chuckwalla too.
As for the real names vs. screen names thing....fourthgenhatchb17 and I have been friends for many years now. At this one meet he was talking to a mutual friend and referred to me...in real life, to someone we both know...as "nihkon". I had to punch him in the arm for that one. haha

Yeah I figured it would be good to see where I start out time-wise. I only had one hot session that day, but I managed to pull a 2:34 (CW#13 configuration). Was something like 4th fastest out of my group of 35+ cars. I was pretty stoked.
