thats nothing...almost all tracks are expensive!

we spend almost 20,000$ for the weekend of West Michigan Honda Meet at Gingerman (kind of a mid-size track, and relatively cheap)

it just barely breaks even every time. thats exactly how we want it.

if you sell spots for an event at VIR, people will come. what part of the year do you think would be best? i'm thinking either spring or late fall. probably late fall.

we'd use our existing website with a different name (WMHM.org), and we've done a track event every year since 2004. its just in a very different and far away place.

well, i attempted to to the conversion yesterday... and it all went FAIL!
i was soo tired and frustrated.. been up since 4 am due to work, and then didnt get started til after 4pm......
took **** apart... cat seemed in the way......couldnt get the egay header to fit...
im using a/c. so either my condenser fan needs to come out for it to fit, or it cant fit at all.
when you did the rack swap, you didnt yank the motor out to get it out, right? lolol
i just cant really see how it would fit coming out.
but yet again, I was VERY delusional because i was tired and frustrated as ****...
any tips would help....

I would vote fall too.. Im not sure what the norm is for a track day but I would hope we would have 10-20 people coming with vehicles at least. I would think that would help keep it affordable for everyone. Guess we really need details and real price estimates.. It is a long time away. but something that would need a lot of planning considering we would be coming from all over. Hmmm... maybe an *OFFICIAL TRACK DAY 2012* thread! hahaa. PLease let us know BLU..

Looks awesome man... love having the car inside. sleep easy! Hope your enjoying the new digs!

-Complete side note: Doing a job for a buddy, 99 CRV.. small wreck. Needs new airbags and srs unit. My local junk yards are empty.. been scouring ebay, but dont always trust it. If anyone is local to a yard and wants to make a couple bucks selling some parts let me know. If your local junkyard/whatever has a set and if you scoop em and ship em to me I sure dont mind adding a some extra cheese on top!! Thanks fellas.

I haven't found a CRV at my locals yet.

Is the CRV AC bracket the one that uses a D series bolt pattern for the compressor and does not have the torque arm sticking out the side?

if we rent out VIR and do a full trackday/weekend like we do for WMHM, we'd need over 100 people tracking their cars to cover costs. shouldnt be a problem for VIR though, it is a huge draw.

Hey thanks for even checking man, this search is a lot tougher than I imagined. Appreciate it very much. Obviously dont just go buy anything! make sure its worth it first, ebay has some 300$ each ones... thin I can find cheaper at a yard though.

-not sure on the AC bracket..

Wow... 100 people would be sick.. hopefully that pulls costs way down. I mean whats the normal rate for a track day? 200$-300$-500$?

The CR-V bracket does have a torque mount. I have that exact bracket on my Ej1 with ls/vtec and yes, it accepts the stock dseries compressor.

here a pic of an extra one I sold last year.

put my oil cooler setup together. massive B&M supercooler. works well. 180 degrees on the highway, pressures are great, and should work great on track. sits really tucked too, and is mounted to intercooler.

probably going to get a lower temp thermostat for the car, so it opens earlier and larger on track. doesnt get hot by any means, but a lot is going on in front of the radiator. used same setup without a oil cooler for about 20 track days and it stays around 205, which is fine, but i'd love 180, and the radiator can do it just fine. ducted air a bit better to radiator, fixed a brake duct, and some odds/ends too. almost ready for WMHM. gotta do a valve adjustment (havent in over 25 track days), and gotta mount some tires on other track rims. no big deal there. might paint it if the stars align, but they wont.

@ redzc.... where'd you find the fender flares? I've been looking for a set in that style that fit to no avail. Need them so I can snag a set of low offset wheels before I raise it a slap a lot of rubber on em.

the flares are some Jubride-brand ones i got from a local dude for free. i have no idea why he gave them to me. really.

they sell them in a few places, but i dont know where he got them. i kinda like them, kinda dont. since i smashed my others (or at least the pass. side), i put them back on.

the splitter is Fiberglass Reinforced plywood. 1/2''. has fiberglass on top, bottom, and in between. makes it mega-stiff. i can stand on it anywhere.

gonna make it a bit better looking after my next track weekend, before Wekfest...

kinda dont wanna do a car show. i like it dirty! drove it 30 or so miles to a buddies today, to pick up a 240 WHP built B series for another car (our CRX, gutty..its going "legit"). didnt take the truck..i just wanted to drive the car. i LOVE driving it. i need to find more places to go with it. rolling into the throttle is just stunning. i absolutely love it. and they swallow a B series like nothing.

cant wait to try it on track with the turbo setup in 2 weeks.

Wow man, looks great... TOUGH!
I think the fender flares look good with the un-painted bumpers. That last pic is awesome.
Helmet and a bseries in the trunk of a caged turbo single! winning!

here's another thought for you guys regarding VIR. during the last GT Live event Subaru was out there and had the skid pad set-up for auto-x. They let people drive the new wrx and sti. i wonder if Honda or another organization would be interested in doing something similar

240whp out of an NA b series? How? Compression must be nuts! Gotta run ITB's also...I can't imagine making that much out of my built LS. I see that's a vtec head, but still...
