That's what I am doing. I look at the hotel party pics and I can't wait to be there, but I don't want my car there. Wayyyy to many people, accidents can happen, I would rather be safe than sorry.

yea i drove my car to the la quinta last year and was worried about it the whole time, its gets pretty crazy out there, soooo many people. street racing right infront of the hotel..cops are usually walking around but last year they pretty much let us keep partying, they just made sure no one did anything stupid.

Im really considering going to IA, since ive always wanted to go. just gotta find some local people to go with.

tech topic; Anyone ever remove a front hub without having to replace the wheel bearings? im a little confused by this. Ive been researching and people have been saying you need to replace them when you remove the hub from the knuckle. Is it a necessity, or is it one of those "its already exposed, you might as well replace it"

Well the previous trans in my car turned out to be an LS with a different final drive, which was weird b/c the gearing felt like a B16 trans. Well when we put my B16 trans in, it felt just like the LS we took out, save for 5th b/c it just completely drops off.

On boost I'd stick with the LS anyway, just my $0.02

I hope we all find a way to make it to IA.

Im assuming your putting new studs in, If you can split the hub from the knuckle without messing up the bearings than without a doubt you can just re-use them. I think the theory is, when is the next time you'll be pressing that out? so if your already in there, whats another 80-100$ on wheel bearings? I recommend new wheel bearings while doing the job. save you from possibly needing to do it down the road.

What's up EF'rs, 1st post in this thread, figured my freshly painted rex is now worthy of a post.

Hoping to drop in my LS/vtec this summer and also need to figure out how wide of wheels I can run w/o crazy camber or any other major fender mods.

Personally if I was painting mouldings the same color as the car, I would paint the entire black trim at the bottom too. That's just me though. I'm trying not to sound like I'm hating. Just some constructive criticism.

Thats a crisp last shot, definitely worthy!
I was thinking the same, paint the molding black, or the lower part red. but always to each is own. I personally dont like red cars in the first place. Besides color or paint scheme, which is all personal opinion, I really like it, and the LICNZPL8. Looks solid, guessing stock under the hood?

On a side note: thats some serious bamboo! I hear bamboo grows as deep as it does tall. FACT.

i think it'd look better with a red hood if you keep the moldings black

lol, thats pretty funny to me since I think quite the opposite. I think it looks cheap when people paint the lower trim, I've never liked that at all. Painting the side moldings like i did just gives the car a much more clean modern look. I've been in love with this style of paint ever since I saw a rex like it some 14+ years ago, but again to each their own.

I like the door moldings black as well but I just like it this way more, not to mention I rarely see other rex's painted the same.

Nope, it's a ViS hood.

I know I could post this elsewhere but I used to post in this thread more than any on my previous account. Anyways here is the question...I am replacing a headgasket on my freshly built motor and cleaned head. Some people have been telling me to put a dab of sealant on the block just abover where the engine code is stamped. You guys have any insite on this? Should I just stick with putting the headgasket on with no sealant??? Thanks!

Hahaa, I knew I was gonna get some heat! I dont judge a car any differently based on color! I still think the overall look is what matters. Everyones car should be different. I still got more love for any EF than anything else!!

Sometimes red is monotonous. At any EF meet, 90% of the cars red it seems.

I think I've heard that before, but I don't know what kind of merit it has. I just rebuilt my high compression LS and copper painted my cometic head gasket just to make sure any light scratches on the mating surfaces get sealed ok.
