That ATI unit is more for built motors correct? and wayyy too pricey for me right now.

Meh...I say do it. I beat the sh*t out of my GSR with that pulley and so far so good. I wouldn't worry about a shattered oil pump.

Doesn't the tension from the alternator belt cause some harmonic frequencies to occur without the rubber damper?

Hahaha, no funds for that yet. Although TSX swaps are only about $1800.

Honestly though...I know GSR's aren't "balanced" like a CTR motor, but I figure if it's OEM Honda then I can trust it. When my motor blows next week you can all laugh at me and I will insert foot in mouth

edit: I like that hatch...any more info?

Im thinking the same thing.. does it still use the same alternator belt?

I would love some more info on that hatch as well, a little far from me.. but I am looking to pick up another EF now that my truck is gone.

Lots of debate on that pulley and there always has been. I would not run one.

I believe the alternator belt is different. Do a search as to which one you need.

Thats my point. Thats why the ctr pulley is so light. Either way, ATI FTW

If you want to lose weight, you could always go with a lighter flywheel.

Haha...turbo. I drove Alex's car this weekend (boosted DC, cover of Super Street this month) and he kept making me smash on it. I'm scared of turbo cars now

I'm mainly looking at the ctr pulley just to get rid of the extra space on it. plus the stock one just isn't as flashy!!! ohh well.. I got tons of other **** to worry about than that pulley... any ideas for blocking the heat ports on the motor?!?!?

also looking for another EF.. not sure if I want another CRX or a hatch.. I had a hatch style before and sold it b/c I needed money. I may go check this car out...( http://newyork.craigslist.org/lgi/cto/1328343179.html ) really want a shell so I can put all my old CRX stuff in it. not many un-molested or close to rust free EF's in NY though. LMK what you think..

Hahahaa.. knew you would understand. believe it or not, my CRX has no rust and no signs of it.. even before paint. The original owner took very good care of the car and im pretty sure it was garaged most of its early life.

Turbo's are fun.. Im just not a huge fan, I dont hate on them, I think its sick to see a 500hp honda. or any huge turbo looking like it could swallow a baby. For me though.. I like sticking with NA, Im more into driving fast through a turn than in a straight line. Dont take that the wrong way though Chemist.. I love your car.. Our cars look very similar yours is just the rougher tougher big brother that eats V8's!

but the CTR N1 pulley isn't exactly what they use on the production cars. That pulley is used by Honda on engines that are rebuilt after each race, correct?

Turbo setups are nice.

But are they not useless until you hit 3rd gear? (On the street)

I wouldn't say a turbo car is useless in corners and turns. I used to love romping on it in a turn to get those tires spinning to pull me through a slide in a turn. lol, I'd be scared to do it with my poor little gsr. And the ITR lsd kind of annoys me in turns; constantly making the car feel like its jerking while each wheel is trying to get the best grip.

Depends entirely on how much power you're making. I was probably only pushing 250whp at 13psi with a .48/.60 T3 on a jdm b16. That thing was fun as hell in all gears. If you are making rediculous power(350+), I'd say it's useless on the street. Especially 1-3.

You'd be more pissed if you had my problem. That is running out of motor with tons of on-ramp left.

Huh? No clue what you're talking about.

And this back and forth stuff over the pulley is lame. Am I the only one who has used it? I've used it for 3 years...put some street and some track miles on my GSR and it's still strong as all hell. Can anyone else chime in with real experience?

I Had it on my built motor for 5-6k... No problems (still same bearings an all) but i got scared and upgraded to an ati when i swapped my setup to my black car. Now i have another 20kish on it since swaping so the ctr didnt kill it in that 6k. I have alot of cash in my bottom end so i figured why chance it?

Also from a 30 mph roll, i killed a new gt rustang...it was an embarrassment to him. I took a u turn we have on campus kinda hard three lane to another three lane no traffic anywhere (Summer woot) My car really understeers... time to try to st rear sway

So there is two people that have ACTUALLY USED the CTR pulley.. and no problems. I think its fine to use... just unsure of what Alt belt to use. The gsr belt is to big I hear, what other Honda Belt will work?

There's the difference...my $1500 GSR long block as opposed to a motor with some skrilla invested. I wouldn't chance it either
