But seriously, after reading through that, I'm glad I do my own work. Granted, not everyone out there is as willing as I am to jump in and try something new by themselves, but at least threads like that one will help guys like me (scrounging for every last dime for their projects) keep a little money in their pocket instead of giving it away. Personally, I wouldn't send him any business after reading through that thread and I have a feeling I'm not the only one.
after looking at the fitment of the JDM ITR header, i decided to keep my DC 4-2-1...i know there's more power to be made by switching to the 2.5" 4-1 header, but i don't think i can give up my ground clearance
I bought my harness from Chase back when Chase and Rywire were together. I purchased an ECU and Jumper harness from Ryan. Both seem to be fine.. only problem I have now is that neither of them will work on my harness b/c they dont know who did what?! sad excuse on both there parts if you ask me.. wish one of them would step up and help me out. (I wanted to have a milspec connector installed for ease of install) After reading that I think ill steer clear of Chase for some time until he gets his feet back on the ground. Ryan has always been professional and seems like a smart guy who knows everything that he gets into very well. Chase on the other hand...could not even get a hold of him, got one of his nutswingers giving me the run around on the phone.. kid had no idea what I was talking about. That alone closed the door on chasebays for me.. cant have the guy who answers the phone knowing less than the guy calling!
Either way both companies are good for our community. Im sure Rywire will be around when my kids are building hondas... lets just hope Chase gets through this storm.

I have always thought Ryan was more professional, and down to earth... Call me a fanboy or whatever but like Ryan still post in here from time to time, and to me that shows something.. Whens the last time Chase posted in here? granted I'm sure both are super busy but it just seemed like Chase started for the right reasons but got blinded but E-fame, and street cred.. idk Just my 2 cents.
I posted this in Moderator's Corner in response to a discussion regarding that thread.
As far as Ryan is concerned, I met him one time in person and have dealt with him quite a bit through this website and I only have good things to say about him, his work and his business. That seems to be the case with everyone, as far as I have seen.
For what it's worth, I have met Chase three different times in person. I even let him and another guy crash at my house halfway through a cross-country trip. He never seemed like a shady guy, but of course that carries little weight having only spent a few hours around the guy. It was last year, I believe, he got fed up with HT and moved all of his business efforts to other sites.
What I don't understand is how someone that involved in the general Honda community (everyone seems to know him or know of him) can let things get this out of hand. I'd like to say he is just extremely busy and he is overloaded with work, but at eight months (allegedly) with no product being delivered, you loose the benefit of the doubt.
I recall rumors of him fathering a child, which resulted in him selling his prized K series CRX shortly after it was completed. I'm wondering if that was true and if it has had an adverse affect on his business.
*It should be noted I did not read any of the aforementioned thread besides the OP. This is just my experience and recollection.

I love all the talk!
I lived with Ryan for years and we both took Chase in. I have no real beef with Chase besides typical roommate **** (I was always like the Father/Mother of the household), but eventually kicked him out.
Business wise, I recommend you all stick with Ryan. I know what has gone down with Chase and what continues to succeed with Ryan's business. If Ryan is wrong, he fixes it. If Ryan is justifiably late, he'll cut a deal.
And Dan...Ryan won't touch your harness because HE DIDN'T make it. I think that's totally understandable on his part. He's not going to touch Chase's ****. Remember you pm'ing me to get your harness from Chase because he was taking forever?
Anyways, everyone knows what's up now. Stick with Ryan. He is one of my best friends and one of the most honest people I've ever met. I'm gonna get off his nut-swing now and go enjoy some racing on TV with my pops.
Merry Christmas everyone.

Anyway, today I got the Enkeis on and now it is titled and road worthy. Prob swap suspension on friday when im off work.
I remember it taking over 2months.. and this was right when Chase joined Ryan and started doing harness's (IIRC) The harness is decent for a basic wire tuck.. but way overpriced now that I think of it. I borderline feel robbed mainly b/c 2 oem harness's and a fist full of money dont equal up to what I received. But I did not have as much knowledge as I do now, so I blame myself.
When ordering the harness, ecu and jumper I didnt realize there was a difference between Chase and Ryan's business.. I assumed it was ONE company since I only called ONE number and only gave my info to ONE person. I am not saying Ryan isnt doing the right thing and staying away from someone else's work, I just was unaware that certain people did certain things and now that they "broke-up" I have to go through 2 different people to get anything changed. If I knew I had the option when calling I obviously would have had the guy who made the ECU and jumper do the harness as well... Oh well, Live and learn. I have no hard feelings toward Ryan or his company, He does great work, helps the Honda community a great deal and I believe he knows how to operate a business much better. When I am in need of anything related to his business I would go through him again.
ChaseBays has lost my respect.. but I didnt need to read 15pages of childish banter to realize that!
Happy Holidays to Everyone!
merry christmas eve buddies!
