There is a short somewhere, don't put a higher amperage in there because something else might short out and blow besides the bulbs. I had the exact same problem and it turned out to be my corner lights/side markers that the previous owner installed. Check any wiring that isn't factory.

corner lgihts caused a brake light problem? I tucked my entire front of my car, but im pretty confident in the wiring. I guess ill start iwth the bulbs then work to the front and check for shorts. Is there any good way to find them without pulling wiring? Maybe using A DVOM?

Well, that sucks. An obvious question, but are you using the right kind of bulbs? Not meant as an insult to you or anything. I have had the same problem before but it was like 6 years ago so I have no idea what the problem was. I'm pretty sure a wire was shorting out somewhere...

I'm not saying you messed up or anything but that was just my problem. Yeah, I didn't have brake lights at all and just headlights. I can't remember if i had dash lights or not.

Anyone have a lead on a USDM B16 Block? If I cant get one, I may have to stop altogether on the civic.

If I can't get it BAR'd I cant really do much else with it.

Anyone running Koni yellows/ ground control coilovers?
The rear came with the rubber isolator to sit between the tophat and spring, but the front doesnt come with them. some say to re-use the OEM one, some say to buy 2 new GC ones from them, some say that the isolators are not needed in the front. any advice?

Sure no problem. Honestly, it wouldn't hurt anything if you did run them if it makes u have peace of mind then do so.

I have the GC/Koni's as well, but mine came with the isolators all around. But I am also running the tophats on all corners as well.

Dang this is bugging me now. I finally have been making some decent progress on the ride and I am stymied by this CA BAR situation. I had a line on a USDM B16 block but it was out of state and shipping was becoming an issue.

I figured I would just rebuild my JDM B16 into a usdm block so I could get it reffed properly. All the B16 blocks i see are JDM. If ANYONE has a line on a USDM block with the VIN tag, please let me know. I hate to finally get this far, to let this issue beat me, and I really dont want to spend to do a different swap.
