i love my sohc zc. i wouldnt go any other route for replacements, unless i build up an a6 theres no sense in buying a a6 block that some guy has beat up for 20 years. plus alot of zc's ive gotten have been AT so i feel that helps.
It's awd...and in great shape. I don't think I'd feel comfortable selling it this way. If I didn't have a mortgage and a truck payment I'd go get a nice used car for a daily.
I have to deal with Cali smog so I think single cam zc is gonna be my choice...I've already consulted with Ry, haha. I'd go B-series, but don't want to pour money into this thing.

PM me and we can work out a deal on this thing with the smokey motor. It'll make it to BFE where you live. Hell, I took it almost to Yosemite this weekend and then cruised into Tahoe.
Vega, sorry to hear the mix of good and bad news, but all things do happen for a reason, just dont lose sight of what is important to you.
Nick - I have a perfectly good SOHC non VTAK ZC Bottom end I picked up from H motors online. I only needed the head from the complete motor. If you can have someone pick it up it's yours, I dont really want to ship.
Still got stuffs fo sale guys, went to vegas and forgot to post up pics, lol sorry aboot that.

The wheel cylinder could be the problem, everything else is just clips and springs, grease up the normal spots and if its still doing it try replacing the cylinder. Maybe its just telling you to throw some rear discs on!
I'm traveling down to Richmond Virginia this weekend to go to the Rock&Roll 400 Saturday Night. Pretty psyched about it. Got tickets right on the start/finish line. Ive never been to a Nascar Event, would love to go to Watkins Glen sometime also. Should be an interesting roadtrip/event. Anyone else been to a Nascar Event?

My money is on the friction surface of the drum.

Ummm, long story short...I did something wrong. I installed the re-packed axle and got a bad vibration when on the gas (under load). That and I must have jammed the axle in to hard which is a first for me and now it's stuck in the half shaft. I'll finally be fixing that this weekend.
Otherwise, yes, it's easy. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again...I just did SOMETHING wrong that time. Hmmmmmm.

Ok cumputer whizzes. I shrank drive c to make a partition to install windows 7. In the process of installation and on the final restart it came up with "BOOTMGR is compressed hit ctrl alt dlt to restart and it just does this over and over. This is before it can even go through bios. So I searched google and found some steps to try in the command prompt to decompress it which involves exporting the file and some other commands. Well I ended up deleting it during that process, when it should have also created a new file but it didn't work. Now the messag says "BOOTMGR is missing". I have tried startup repair through the vista and 7 DVDs and it doesn't fix it. I tried a system restore. Didn't work. I tried to reinstall vista but it get to a certain point and can't get any further. ANY IDEAS? this is really pissing me off.
I did everything on this link with no success.

I didn't mean the wheel cylinder making the noise, but something like it getting in a stuck position and the shoes themselves making noise. I would start with a resurface/replace drum. Easier way is just going w/discs.

Just do it yourself. It's suuuuuper easy (says the guy who messed his up). Just make sure you put all the parts back together carefully!
FYI- If you buy the honda reboot kit, which I recommend, you don't need the boot "clamp/ring" tensioner tool or whatever the hell it's called. The clamps are made to tighten perfectly over the boot without needing to tension them with said tool.
