I got lucky and was talkin to Water chemistry consultant @ the power plant I work @ and he had one sittin on his shelf as he upgraded the turbo in his Dodge truck. He just gave the turbo to me. He said it was "from an old school hot rodder to a new school hot rodder." Really cool guy. He's got an old 47 chevy with an ls1 in it. Sweet old ride!

I got one for my bro on ebay. It was like $275 shipped if I remember correctly.

That is a huge turbo, I can't think of a better place for it than a big block... To give you an idea, H2 series turbos were (are) used on 7-10 liter diesel engines.

Hi there guys, just been offered a generic ebay cast manifold and a hx35 combo for cheap.

Was wondering has any one every fitted this to a b18c and retained ac? Im thinking maybe fab up an angled plate of some sort that mounts to the manifold then the turbo. You guys think this will be ok for the turbo to fit and clear the ac then?

Every Holset that I have come across right from when they were still "cummins" turbo's (late 70's they changed over i believe) have had built in oil restrictors.

So how does a built in oil restricter work? So you don't have to use a fitting thats restricted?

Yup, just run what ever oil line you please.

For example factory oil line on a dodge diesel with an hx35 is about a 3/8"s line, that goes into an open 12x1.5mm or 14x1.5mm fitting. So the typical -3an (1/4) line that is normally run in the honda scene is tiny in comparison.

the first holset is a t6 flanged H2D... way too big for a honda
the second one looks like a similar H series.... maybe an H2C... still t6 flanged and way too big for a honda... exhaust housing wise...

umm negitive do not listen to that comment there are no oil restricters in holset turbo's! You must run a restricter if you want to prolong the life of the seals in the turbo, Honda motor's= lots of pressure, isx motors and cummins motors do not run as much oil pressure. You will blow the seal out of your turbo!

I understand were you are comming when you talk about diameters but still the pressure is alot for these turbo's not really designed with honda's in mind!

Well what size line would be good to run the inlet?
Cause like stated before the fitting is huge compared to others I have seen.
Would it be ok to get an adapter to run a -4an line?
Then just add a restrictor in it.

I have found that the line isnt the issue just use a orfice restricter, you will be fine you just dont want a huge line dumping tons of oil super fast into the turbo, honest to god use a relatively smaller line because you arent trying to drown the turbo you just wanna get her wet! talk to james at garage808 he is very knowledgeable when it comes to these holsets.

I have a 1/4" (1/8" id) ss hardline for my oil feed with NO restricter and it works perfectly.

PS - The holsets are fine with honda oil pressures. It says so in the turbo manual. Time to read..........
