i personally would have ran some dual springs...for an extra $200 you could have bumped up your redline a few more rpm to take advantage of the boost coming in a lil later...trust me youll be beggin for traction if anything!

hey guys i got a ek4 with a b16a2, can i spool up h1c with a 18cm exhaust housing? And the exhaust housings of the hx35 and h1c are interchangable? can i just buy an 12cm hx35w housing and put it to a h1c without changing the pals?

Thanks

yes itll spool...to your liking maybe not...id def recomend a smaller 9cm or 12cm housing....and it depends on your h1c...some can and some cant...depends on you chra setup is it the same style as mating...the clearances will fit

what do you guys think on my built d16, first I'll list the setup and my plans,a nd you let me know. I know its sounds like a noobish plan, but hey I won't have it all back until the weekend and I wanna' hear some opinions...

d16z6 block bored .020 over
je 9:0:1 forged pistons
scat rods
arp rod bolts
acl race bearings
arp headstuds
OEM gasket
z6 head
new oem valve train
port matched and p&p
3 angle valve jiob
AEM adjustable cam gear (yeah I know, no cam to go with it yet so its pretty useless)

everything above is brand spankin new

and for the turbo setup:
full race equal length tubular mani
38mm egay wastegate w/ dump routed under oilpan
holset hx35
3" downpipe to 2.5" exhaust, no cat

do you guys think running a 3" cutout aswell with the 3" downpipe would really help my spool times?

Whats your opinions on spool times

yes id run the cutout....that 2.5" exh is gonna kill the exh velocity and choke down the turbo....the 3" dp is a aboslute must....and id run a 3" cutout similar to the way i had originally set it up

and spool times ive told your countless times....mid to late 5's

I see, I forgot it was 3" cutout, mixupt here... so basically, I'm looking to upgrade my springs and retainers so I can rev it higher to keep going with more power and go a full 3" exahust instead of just downpipe... anyone with a hx35 boosted D series wanna' chime in? thanks

I am in the process of buiding a y8 for boost. I've got vitara's (76mm), eagle h-beams, acl bearings, and a stock head. I just picked up a Holset hx40 with a 16cm housing for 40 bucks. (fantastic shape-no shaft play) This is not the turbo I intend to put on here, it was just too good a deal to pass up. I just wanted to know if it would even spool, let alone be efficent on the y8. If it would work I could use the money saved to spend on a better engine management system. So if anybody has any useful info, I would appreciate it.

sell it and make some coin...the d will be to small and youll run into all kinds of compressor surge etc...even a hx35 is big for a D....youd need to make the exh housing so tiny to spool it up...that the comp would just surge for the excess backpressure

there are a few in the thread. Mine is on 63.

Anyone else have the TTT SS holset housing? Seems as though its rusting... I guess I was under the impression that it wasn't going to.

EDIT: Nevermind.... I don't have a SS one... TTT doesn't carry a SS Holset housing. I just have regular steel one.

Default Can someone help me identify this holset?

hey guys I bought a holset hx35W on ebay and I am trying to determine the size of hte compressor and turbine. here are hte numbers on the compressor

Holset plate
ASSY: 3536160
Serial: c0770842
Customer: 3536161-0-03/6
Model: HX35W

on the turbine casting= 01c6n

on the compressor side in the casting it says
Holset 3532214

does this mean it is a 14 cm exhaust side?
this will be going on a turbo LS

Thanx!

NM I found out the info myself. Its a 16cm exhaust housing which would make it 1.13A/R. does anyone have a 12 or 14 cm exhaust housing for sale? ftrceo@yahoo.com if you do.
