i would get a hy or hx35 with a 12cm^2 exhaust housing.

The turbo above looks like it has some type of boost controller to it lol. Look how the vac line goes from internal WG to that "thing" and it has wires. I'm assuming its some kind of boost controller?

If you want you can send it to me and i can test it out.

The black solonoid isn't for vnt. From what I have seen it looks like it is used to help prevent surge and used to actuate the wastegate actuator. On mine I took it off and cut down the area it screws into. It leaves two holes, one going into the comp housing and the other going into the surge ports. A little welding and grinding and you'll never know it was there.

Subscribing to this thread.

My build (its not a Honda but a 82 VW Rabbit)

1.8t AEB engine from an Audi A4
Completely rebuilt
Cat 3653 cams
Cat valve springs
Scat rods
Stock forged pistons (dont you guys wish you had those )
HX35w w/ 12 cm^2 non wastegate housing
custom exhaust manifold for twin scroll housing
3" exhaust system
SDS engine management
780cc injectors

Im looking to run 22psi on pump and make close to 400whp. On race, Id like to see 30psi and close to 550whp. I want to push the limits of this turbo. If I dont make it, Ill upgrade to the 40 compressor side.

nice build...how do those motors flow? looks alike apretty good build taking all the right steps to make a succesful setup...youll love the hx35 esp since you want to get into its sweet spot...30psi is on the high side of the game...but def the 40 housing is always right there to step up to...or like dubnit posted the he351cw is basically a hx35 w/a 40 compressor housing and wheel...

but keep us posted...did i mention i love my holset?

The AEB head flows about 230cfm @ .500 and over 200cfm from .350" @ 28" of h2o
on the exhaust side it flows about 175cfm @ .500" and flows over 150cfm from .300" lift.

Might get frisky and port the head before it goes on. Depends on time and energy. If I have to have surgery on my knee then I will be porting it, as I wont have much else to do with my time.

My goal really is just to hit mid 11's in a street car and call it a day.

As soon as some parts start showing up, Ill post my progress.

nice and that motor is going to do very well w/ the holset...because they love the high pr's...a def better fit for the holset than our honda plants

and id expect nothing else thann to be updated when new parts and such come in... nice to see something else besides hondas steppin it up in this thread...and gl w/ the surgery im only a few yrs out myself from needing some...its really how long can i tolerate the pain in this dam cold weather!

odd question.... since I haven't actually had a holset infront of me.

Is the oil inlet port a 1/8npt? What size is it?

What fitting/flange are people using for the oil return port?

The oil inlet port is a M12x1.5 (on most) and the oil drain flange is just a standard T3/T4 outlet flange.

It's a friends, I'm sure he'd want to sell it as one piece. I'd guess like 200+ or something, I should probably ask him the price though... since i posted it up
