the OD of the 3" v-band flange is like 15-20mm bigger than the flange on the holset. If it could be cut to fit you can bet i would have already done it

if you can find it that would be great.

For reference, the HY-35's outlet is 4.4" OD, and 3.75" ID. I'm using the clamp that came with the turbo, for the cast elbow. With a 3.75" vband flange Spoolin ordered for me the downpipe does not get held by the clamp. I made the clamp smaller in thickness w/ a vise, and will probably try to just make it smaller.

I am also thinking about getting some high temp gasket material and dremeling out a ring or two.

Maybe the older HY before the used VBand? Conctact Holset, email, and send a technitian pictures and ask him how to spell technitian.

My Hy, which is exactly the same as the one pictured, was off an '01 automatic Ram. The 5spd came with an HX but the auto had the HY

So after lots of searching trhough this thread, I didn't see much info on the hx30 series stuff...other than most people saying they're "smaller". The site says it does .035kg/s @ 3.1, which equates to 46lbs/min..equal to a 50 trim. But has anyone actually ran an hx30w?

Also, what does the w imply?

dont quote me on it...but i beleive jdavsi has run one on a setup...the hx30 would work pretty well also if you plot out the compressor map...its just that everyone here like to run turbos on the bigger side...tryin to keep up w/ all these new balla status turbos

Thanx for the responses guys...I saw the "hx30" map, but then it seemed like people were saying it was really the hx35 map(??). I'm shooting for about 400whp on a 2.0 16v vw motor, and if that compressor map is indeed the hx30, then I should be golden...but I'm still not sure.

There are a gagillion and one different HX30's, you will not find your answer with any compressor map without the help of a Holset technitian. Email them and talk w/ them.

what kind of pressure ratios are you looking to run....400+ off a hx30 is gonnabe a stretch just from knowing info bout the hx35....

but def callin holset is always the best answer

Make sure you ask them for the comp map if you can. Also, if you wouldn't mind I would like a copy.

Thinkin of maybe runnin an hx30 on a sohc setup or maybe a type 1 vw, I haven't decided which one to build yet.

The lightweight rwd bug is very very enticing though.

well my buddy ran a 12.52 @ 116. yesterday at hub city dragway in hattiesburg ms with his holset and an ls in a 94 hatch. some of you may remember this car from several pages back. that was on 205/60/15 street tires. run one was a 04 mach 1. run two was a very arrogant srt4 owner.

http://torqueaddicts.net/forum...t=501

theres the link, i think he is gonna sell the car soon though.
