yeah i noticed nobody cares about how fast you go, its all about your dyno #'s, which i also have a copy of his dyno.

Well post that bad boy up!! I personally am not interested in the dynos except in that they will show usable power bands and give a good idea what a turbo will do on a specific setup. For a regular person a dyno queen is kinda lame imho. In the end it's good data though.

this was before my genius friend(actually he is really smart, he did all fab work on this entire project) put a timing light on his car, and it was 3 degrees low on base timing.

after he pulled the timing up to 16.5 he trapped 116mph in the quarter, before when he was at 13.5 base, he only trapped 112mph.

i posted his timeslip a couple pages back when he ran his 12.74@110.

anybody care to guess how much more power he is putting down since he turned up the timing.seriously, we dont have a dyno less than 3hrs away.

thinkin about selling my car, holset, and everything else, and going back rwd.

no doubt in my mind at all you will do over 400. I could have had 400 whp with 1 more pound of boost but I do still have stock sleeves so Tony and I decided it would be best to play it safe. Once I get valvetrain it will make a good bit more power, the dyno plot is still climbing steeply at my 8200 rpm limiter.

Hey guys im here to join your family Awesome info on here, really helped me out when it was time to choose my hx35 the other day. It going an a 1.8t audi a4. Just wondering where you guys found air filters? i believe it needs a 5" inlet and so far k&n is the only company wth a filter with 5" inlet, but the filter is too long to fit in my location... time to break out the screen?

Also do these turbo need an oil restrictor on the feed?

Depends on how much oil pressure your engine exerts. I don't remember exactly, but somewhere in this thread the suggested oil pressure is given (I remember cause I messed up the conversion), it turns out to be something like Min of 20psi and a max of somewhere around 80psi or somethin like that. Flip through the thread to find the exact #'s.

As for the filter.....are you sure its a 5" inlet??? I have the hy35 which has the same wheel (for all intents and purposes) and my inlet is 4".

The inlet on the hy35 is about a -4, a -3 would require a reducer. I am, of course, concerned with the common problems associated with a -4 line and pushing oil past the seals as well as oil starvation.

you make a holder for the internal gate...and then run an external....or weld the internal gate shut

Ah thanks for the info guys! So 4" inlet..thats a huge relief.

Has anybody been able to find a flange for the 5bolt outlet? I'm assuming its different from garrett's, if I cant find one, I'll just cut one out with the plasma cutter
