well, i guess nobody cares how fast you can go with a holset .

i do have a question.

i have an h1c/h1e/hx35 sitting here. it has a 56mm wheel( i think) a 4in inlet. 2in outlet. i have both a 12cm housing(internal gate) and a 18cm housing (ext gate) (started life as a h1c on a piece of equipment, it had a 3in inlet then, i bought the bigger wheel, the 56mm, it origianally had a 54mm wheel, i also bought the housing to go with the 56mm wheel)

would this be good on a 5.0 small block ford(fox mustang) looking for about 450ish?(blocks start to split around 500-520)

my friend with a fox mustang says it will be to small. what do you guys think?

should i just try to find a hx40, or a hx55? i already have this hx35morph sitting here.

i can provide pics of all of this tomorrow, when i get home from work, if needed.

Ironically, I have been looking for and researching Holset turbos for about 3 years, and because of this pro-Holset thread I actually ended up purchasing a Garrett. LOL. Not because Holsets are bad, they're great turbos, Holset just doesn't make a VGT turbo you can fit in a Honda...

not yet...i have a "gut" feeling that holset will be outputing some nice equipment w/in the next yr or two that will be on a smaller scale...but normally holsets in general are massive...which is awesome when your going for the" my snail is bigger contest"...

i swear 95% of the people think my car is 10x faster because the hx35 is a giant compared to most setups around here running smaller t3/t4 setups

id go w/ a hx35 turbine w/ maybe a 14 or 16cm housing depending on you desired powerband w/ a hx40 compressor...

once i have some solid #'s on my setup i might be able to convience my friend to run a holset snail on his f22/h22 hybrid...

but i cant even imagine the spool times of a hx35 w/ a standras 12cm housing...i mean on my 1.9ish i already see 42-4300 full boost of 15psi w/ 3" open dp...w/ a h22 id say somewhere in the 3500ish range...would have a nice fat powerband w/ tons to useable power!

For those of you that used a ground down 3" v-band band for the 2.75" HX35 turbine outlet, what flange did you use (link, name whatever)? I have given up on buying one from a holset dealer.

Default NEW pics!

Well, I decided I wanted something a touch bigger than the hx30w, and I found this gem on ebay from a great seller.H1C, 315 shipped brand new in the box w/ gaskets and oil fitting included! The compressor housing is a bit small, and I would have expected the wheel to be a bit bigger for an h1c, but nonetheless it should work nicely.
Inducer/exducer on this one is around ~1.77"/~2.83", 2.5" inlet, 2.5" vband...

Turbo in comparison is a t3/t04e 57 trim w/ a stage 3 wheel and .63ar
