Always Shell 93 octane for my car. Right, I mean max on pump gas.

I'll have pics up soon of my modified HY35W.

I blocked the internal wastegate, I am also removing the bracket that was holding the wastegate actuator to the compressor housing, "shaved" the lettering and am polishing the compressor housing, starting to look sweet.

It took 1 week of using liquid wrench everyday with a chissel and a mini-sledge before I could seperate the turbine housing from the center section..

On pg 19 I put up some picts of how I did it. I ended up just tack weldin the wg shut from the inside because I had to orient the comp housing and the method I used was no longer applicable.

Heh.

In the trailerpark, we just wire the flapper shut.

Still, good work.

i have by now read all 34 pages, and know that many of are running holsets on your petrol driven cars...

i mentioned last page that i have heard only bad things about the exhaust temperature and that the diesel turbo wont be able to resist the much higher petrol exhaust temps...

now, please all u guys who are runnin holsets, can u let me know how long u have been running holset, maybe at what boost levels, and how long the turbo lasted/lasts...

thanks guys ... will be a good info for all of us...

Heh.

Looks like fitting a Holset VG into most Honduh chassis ain't gonna happen... that vane controller unit is pretty bulky.

I wonder how tiny they can shrink the hot side down, though? Also, how difficult it would be to control the VG unit. Probably simple microcontroller project, base it off RPM/MAP/TPS loads as a boost controller.

I don't know how extensive your turbo background is but if you check out http://forums.clubsi.com/postl...=UBB4 one of the regulars has used a VNT garrett turbo on a sandrail. I'm sure you could make a post or whatnot if your interested.

That slidevane he351ve opens up to 25cm. There is an he431v that opens up to 29cm. Correct me if i am wrong but that's well over a 2.00 a/r. I belive it closes down to 9cm. I have looked on the exhaust housings and can only find the 25cm and 29cm respectively.

Default are there any high-ish boost dynos with good manifolds ?

i searched for like 10 pages and gave up... are there any "good" setups (good manifold, good IC, good DP, good external WG, etc etc) with dyno plots anywhere in this thread?

I have only seen two, was requested not to share them.

You might ask Speed Phreak to post up his, since it was his "old" setup. 340 whp @ 12 psi on a 2.0 LS. I only have a hardcopy *somewhere*, lost the jpeg at some point.

Unfortunately by your standards he didn't have a good manifold, etc., so it's probably not what you want to see.

I will be going to the dyno very soon, my project was on hold as I was out of town on business for ~6weeks and on vacation for 2 weeks. Bubba will be doing the tuning.

GSR
mild pnp
itr cams
victor x mani
rc1000cc injectors
crower valvetrain
crane stg II n/a cams
block line honed and balanced
eagle rods
srp pistons
holset hy35 turbo
neukin mani
tial 38mm wg, 50mm bov
4"-3" dp, 3" exhaust
aem ems
aem 3.5 bar map

Maybe this is good enough for you, as I'm sure you have very high standards. Yes I know this is a mild build, but I don't really need 500+ hp. I will be posting up a dyno soon. Dp is being fabbed right now, then just some misc stuff for me to put together, wiring (map, boost solenoid, injector clips), tires (f1 gs-d3's) to be put on, koni/nuespeed to be installed and it should be ready for the roller.

I ran an hy35w on my 2.3ford powered rx7 for a couple years and on my mustang a year or so before that. Very reliable turbo's
Even with my bad flowing head the hy35 made 422hp 440tq on a dynojet
http://www.eville140.com/rx7.html

Plan on reusing it for the 5th year on my 3tc powered Toyota starlet
