What would be a good turbo for a built sleeved b16 stock head with itr cams. Looking for 400+ on pump and 550-650 on race gas

Havent posted in here for a while, thought id throw a coulple things in.

My civic went 10.8@128 a couple years back when my Ebay 60-1 took a dump and i threw the HX35 on it just to get down the track. The car with the 60-1 was trapping 138 at 20psi and pump gas and switching to HX35 lost 10mph and had to really work on my short track to get the car back in the 10's on pump gas and 20psi.

My buddy/customers car has come a long way and is a true budget build.
EM1 100% stock full interior and power steering.
Stock LS tranny
stock sleeves
SRP pistons
Eagle rods
Ebay: Manifold, fmic, wastegate, 2.5" charge pipe kit
HX35 12cm
3" downpipe, full exhaust with cat and muffler.
23" slicks

Managed a bunch of 1.66 60ft's with a best ET of 11.4@121 at 364whp. Got on the dyno and made 466whp on 19psi with a mix of 92/110 gas. Never made it back to the track with the 466hp but if we had we were looking for a high 10 second pass.

The side with the square opening and 2 threaded bolt holse is the "OUT" or standard T3 return flange...the single opening thats threaded is the oil "IN".

Just purchased a hy35 for my hatch. I have a fully built b16, stock sleeves, 255 pump etc, I think ima pick a set of 1000cc injectors up and get rlz to tune it. Its currently on a t04e ebay junk turbo making 302whp and im not happy with it. My goal is 400whp. Any input?

i love the drivability of mine (hx35 8-blade).....its basically n/a....when you want to have fun you have all the power a fwd street car could handle.....

i do have a d16 but i dont think it'd be too different, i used to have a small turbo set-up didnt matter what gear i was in in i mashed the throtal it spooled right up now the biggest thing is dropping it in the right gear when cruising to have fun......for example at 60mph in fourth or fifth you really need to down shift to third, you cant just push the pedal it will lag pretty bad....i'd normally never think to downshift to third on the highway to do a pull cruising at 65.....but you got to..... if i mash it from the light first gets some boost and second just about build full if not builds full boost...i ganny shift on the street it'll drop like 3-5psi but almost instantly picks it right back up

edit: and i love on a clear sunny warm day you do a pull in third.....3k-nothing...4k start to sound like a jet engine and pulls a bit stronger.... 5k- start geting pulled into your seat.... 6-k your *** is planted and your tires just break loose..... i have a duel stage boost controller so i can flip the swith between 16psi and 22psi(currently plan on mid to upper 20's) over 16 the tires just break loose on dry pavement

so im wondering, there's a lot of b16a holset hx35's on here and the majority have the exhaust cam adjusted out, ive gathered that it has something to do with spool time, how much are yall adjusting out, and how much is it helping spool time

What do you mean by "adjust it out" you talking swapping cams or changing overlap via adjustable cam gears?

I use Stock GSR cams on my setup, and so far works great. stock cams are fine if your only looking for like 400whp

All depends on the cams in question. Most stock cams arent gonna pick up significant HP with adj. cam gears and adjusting them. Were talking like 5hp if that. Aftermarket cams is where adjusting the cams gives you the benefits.

theres a guy on ebay who sells the flanges, then you would just need it welded to a DP

i think what you mean is that you wonder if a j can spin two of them

if my d16 can spin it your j can def. spin it

and flanges are all over the place....i got lucky cuz mine cam with the stock v-band flange so that was easy

The turbos are so cheap I usually just weld the downpipe right on.
