Quick question to all holset users. i have a build B18c and have a inlinepro cast header right now i have a T3/To43 bolted up and want to change to a HX-35 but im not sure if it will fit the block with the inlinepro header since this header keeps the charger close to the block and a holset is a BIG charger??
let me pls know if someone is using a inlinepro header with a Holset
Thanks

Check pg17, I posted some picts of my hy35 next to my old garrett t04b, the holset kinda punks the garrett. Really. I just ordered a digi camera so when it gets here I will post picts of my bay with the mani, turbo, dp.

On a side note I towed my car in to a "fabrication" shop to do my dp and the dude called me the a couple of days ago (I work out of town so I had to drop it off to him) and told me that he welded one of the 4" v-band flanges to the fukin turbo!!!!! I wanted to choke him when I heard this. I was like "you're joking right?" and he was like "no I'm not why would I be joking?". OMG, what a fukin moron. Needless to say the v-band flange was 304 and the turbine housing to me looked to be cast steel. He didn't even use a rod with high nickel content, he just used some 316 rod. I still can't believe this crap, I will be dye peening the weld, but even if that comes out good, the cast will prolly crack eventually. Then I will have to sue the moron for another turbo..........talk about lame!

If you are close to the block with your T04E compressor housing, and/or had to grind some webbing, the Holset will not fit.

For all intents and purposes, HX35 is going to be 1" longer at the max diameter of the scroll (so angled flanges mean that much more) and it has a 9" scroll... which is about 2" more than the .54 trim T3/T04E I was holding earlier.

HX35 vs .54 trim T3/T04E from a Drag kit.

Be so good as to ignore the dinky thing off to the side, it is of no consequence.

PS, the last pic is at a bit of an angle, it makes it hard to gauge height. Stare at the pic for a second.

*Old Setup*

2.0L LS
8.5:1 compression
12psi on HX35
shitty SSAC manifold
Crower '402T's

Make note the engine was being run to 8k rpm, but it was spinning on the dyno causing a misread. Due to shitty tires/strap down method. Corrected WHP figures somewhere around 325. Oh yea, also on a notoriously low reading local mustang dyno.

well holset measure in cm^2 kinda like mitsu, most are divided t3 inlets, some are divided t4 and some are divded t4, just depends on which model you get.

cm's range from around 12 to 24, so roughly .48 to 2.2 a/r

i apoligize for spelling errors as i am very shitfaced at the moment (bad week, bad life)

Yea it pulled like a ******* banshee all the way to 8k...pretty impressive for a stock port 90/91 LS head. They weren't *technically* '402t's but a one-off custom grind by Web Cams. Back in the day they had the '402t lift with a good bit more duration, but not enough to produce any sizable amount of overlap. I noticed a while back the crower revised thier 402t specs so that they are close to what I was running...Guess someone got a clue over at Crower

You Jewish?? I know the Shema. Hehe, went to a Mesianic church for a while.

The chains are from my tow dolly that the car is on. I was towing it to and from the fabricator (well, the wannabe fabricator anyway) to get my dp made. I have since taken it to my friends shop 160+ miles away to get it done right. This is what he did...........

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1533197

He also welded on my turbo, which I don't really care for either........and then he was a real tool about me not being satisfied with the job.

Where's a good place to find a USED or REBUILT HY35 or HX35 besides eBay? I'm not looking to pay 500$+ for a new one.

Going to be going on a 81.5mm LS
8.8:1 wiseco's
eagle rods 3/8" bolts
arp head studs
rocket l21 cams
rocket valve springs
ported ls head
stock sleeves

will be revving to 8k+

Any other low budget Holset turbo suggestions?

Yeah.. read the thread. Still can't find a good place to buy the turbo. Suggestions besides eBay? I've tried calling up a local shop "Diesel Injection Services" who rebuilds/sells turbos, but they ask for a Holset part no. So, I found a list of Holset #s and there are like 100s just for the HX35W. Kind of SOL as far as that goes it seems :\

ok youve called....1 shop...there are sooo friggin many across this country...you have to do some leg work to make this worth your while...i called about 5 different shops....got an email back from one of them...got some pics and a week later ad $215 missing from my bankaccount....i had a nice hx35 sittin right in front of me...

the variants of the hx35 are very minimal...mostly compressor changes...its be more concerned w/ gettin a 12cm housing...

i hate to spoon feed people...not that im not a giving person...but calling these places whatever you do....dont tell them its going on a honda...99% of the time you wont even get a bye...its just click...

keep you head up high...and im sure youll find one...hit up some diesel forums...or even dodge forums like i have in the past....best place to find a part you want...is the forum it came from...usually stuff goes for dirt cheap...because like many they figure no want who has what they have would want it so it is deemed somewhat worthless....until lil john bloe hondaboy picks it up for s steal....and makes gobs of power w/ it....useless i think not

I didn't just try one shop. I tried every single junk yard in my area as well. I searched Honda-Tech, I googled. The only place I could find was eBay, and a friend warned me of eBay.. that's why I finally posted on here. Chill out and stop treating me as if I want everything handed to me on a silver platter. I've done hours of searching and research on this.. I don't need to be ridiculed by you-- I just wanted some friendly advice in case I missed something.

well its the 1st you ever posted about the turbo...you act like youve called one place....im not ridiculing you im just saying its a turbo that isnt common in most area that we would normal find them....juinkyards arent going to have these...unless they are specifically a truck yard....

egay isnt all that bad...ive pruchased numerous things from online...just make sure the buyer has a decent rep. and make contact w/ them a few times to ask ?'s etc...

keep tryin...you wont be dissapointed
