you might actually have to shave some of the exhaust side down to fit a v-band or you could buy a holset v-band clamp. Not sure but i think drumking15 did it? Yes the HX35 is T3

What is the exhaust flange on the divided HX35W? is this a T3 or T4 flange? Also for the hot side, is the Vband a normal 3" vband? so I would just need to get a Vband flange and a Vband Clamp? to make my Downpipe?

Thanx!

Any cheap places to get flanges? or is it just
http://www.atpturbo.com and
http://www.ebay.com ?</TD></TR></TABLE>

its a normal t3 divided housing...set up for a split scroll manifold...

the exh vband is 3" but the thickness of it is to big for most universal 3" vbands....i took a 6" grinder and held it to that to shave off about 1/4" then used a piece of sandpaper on a wood block to make it flat and nice and smooth....take a lil off at a time...it took me all of about 10 min to solve that problem...and any univ 3" vband flange will work...i got one from an online store...i thjink arturbo has some...mine came w/ a nice vband side and on the other a nice 3" lip w/ a band around it...had to expand the mandrel bent dp tubing around the vband flange...then the band around it gave me a nice solid surface to weld against w/ good penetrtion....its sooo purdy.

These turbos are more common at Deisel shops than t3/t40e are on honda-tech

they are not two big if you now wut yor doing

Read this thread, then understand that they are basically the same except larger. Bigger compressor that will flow more air (and surge more easily on our low-traction-low-boost cars) and also have a larger (14 or 16cm^2) exhaust housing which equates to much later spool. You can switch out the compressors and make a hx35-40, where you take the 35 turbine and the 40 compressor.

If your making a high whp drag car this turbo is great. What you must not understand about these turbos is a log manifold and a stock tb and intake manifold and other things that will help reduce whp are great. Put a restrictive intake on the turbo to bump up the PR, cause these things need to run higher boost. You need to sacrafice whp to run the boost up higher to make the turbo more efficient.

The idea is not a bigger holset, the hx35 is efficient up past 35lb and is inefficient below 14 pounds, but more boost.

I just got into the 12's on 12 psi with my Holset. I ran a 12.88 @ 110 mph in the quarter. I had a 2.00 60' on drag radials. Here is a quick setup list.

LS/VTEC with ported b16 head
Log style turbo manifold
turbonetics deltagate external wg
70mm throttle body
intake maifold port matched to head/tb
Large fmic
blitz dd blow off valve
2.5" to 3" downpipe
3" exhaust
Holset H1C turbo
Crome stand alone with base tune
(car needs tuned pretty badly)

What type of wastegate is everyone using. I plan on using a Tial 38mm but i think it might be better to use a 44mm being that the turbo is so big.

my friend's LS is using a tial 38mm. 12lbs rock steady all the way to redline. seems to work great.

i use a 38mm (.54bar spring approx 8psi) and when i run open dp...i spike to 10psi....when i run stock exh it holds dead steady at 7.5psi.....also when it gets wet out and traction is non existent open dp it spikes to about 14psi.....ive considered going to a bigger wg but $ limits me to what i already have....besides you wouldnt wanna run this turbo anything below 10psi anyways...its just not as fun nor efficent

id havent gone through this thread in entirety yet but i found a few maps and noticed that the the map i have for the hx30 is the map that was posted earlier in this thread for the hx35, and the other i have is for the hy35w/hx35w.
hx30: KEEP IN MIND THE MASS FLOW FOR THIS MAP IS IN KG/S NOT LB/MIN

hy35w/hx35w:

hope this helps someone, i know it clinched my decision to go hx35w.

congrats to holset, i dont see what you are trying to point out to me?
are you saying i should stay away from the hx35 and go 30?
the 35w map is damn near perfecy according to my calcs for my 2.2. from 3.5k to 6.3k im in full boost EITHER 17psi or 25psi unless i really fucked up somewhere.

So long as the intake doesn't put you into surge its a good idea. If the PR increace will not offset flow enough to produce surge then having a better efficiency curve is a good thing. Why dont you refute it? If I'm wrong I'd like to be right the next time I talk, so help me out here.
