I dont mind a little lag if it helps with traction but im worried about spike. I just bought a PFab log.

My question is should i run the Holset 16cm^2 exhaust or look into a BEP .70 a/r. The car is usually used as a weekend warrior and occasional 1/4 track car. I am also considering all other variables such as piping length, innercooler size, etc..

Im still a newb when it comes to all this.
Any input is appreciated, Thanks.
To give you an idea... 10cm is about .73a/r
16cm will be so laggy you won't even enjoy driving it... And either a housing that large you don't have to worry about a spike, you'll barely hit full boost

^thanks man.

I just picked up another H1c with a bullseye .70 a/r housing off of here. I kinda figured that gigantic housing was going to take forever to spool.

My freshly tuned setup just for info

7 blade hx35 from a 24 valve with a Tim's turbo .63 hot side
Gsr
Manley h beams and Manley platinum 9:1 pistons
Precision 1000cc and auto phonics 300lph pump
cast manifold and Godspeed 38mm gate
3 inch full exhaust and skunk2 intake manifold
tuned on eCtune with boost by gear 👍
tuned by DKGoodrich on his mustang dyno in Frankfort KY

on gate pressure(5psi) it made 272whp
final pressure at 16.5 psi it made 354/254 and making over 250wtq from about 5000 all the way to redline.

fun on the street for sure

that would be over 400 on a dynojet. your runing this on a log manifold? im looking to put this together soon but with a topmount or ramhorn. looking to make like 450hp probably end up getting a RLD Fab manifold since ive dealt with him before...

yessir. with the assumed 13% higher reading of a dyno jet 24c it should be right at 400whp. 430ish on a dynapack setup

so I was fooling around with the boost by gear in ectune earlier. I can't get it to make anymore than about 12psi in second gear. makes pressure fine in 3rd and 4th of course.

9:1 gsr hx35 with a .63 hotside cast manifold

any ideas?

Post a screen capture of your EBC screen in eCtune or post your tune file on the eCtune forum.

Be sure your waste gate activation is below your waste gate spring pressure. EBC activation should be around 1 psi.

Ive been running holsets for years on my Ranger, but I didnt know you could get a turbine housing as small as guys are running. I have a few extra hx's sitting around, so maybe I will throw one on the civic. I would be interested to know where an hx35 or an H1c hits full boost on these little motors.

i have found a hx40 parts
Compressor 62mm x 86mm 7 blade
Turbine Shaft/Wheel 76.00mm X 62.00mm 10 Blade

I am thinking of buying these and machining my hx35 housing to fit them. how would this setup work.
