A 7 blade hx35 flows more than an 8 blade. A 7 blade with everything setup correctly to help it flow could get close to 500 on pump depending on what motor it is. But it is going to be maxed out at that point. The 8 could probably make 500 on race but not on pump.

glad to hear and yes they are very simple. the clips can be annoying, especially the ones down inside the center housing but its cake.

Most of them are laggy. What is your setup? Which holset do you have? What size hotside is your turbo? My 35 spools 5k on my lsv.

First post so hello to all. Building a fairly stout street/strip 96 dx with an f22a4 with a hx40 6 blade compressor. We are in the midst of building the exhaust manifold now and I am torn on wastegate size. It is the twin scroll 18cm turbine. I plan on using the boost by gear function of s300 and regulating the pressure down pretty low(15-20psi) for launching and street driving, but hitting 35-40psi in higher gears. I also have a direct port fogger plumbed for that little extra up top if needed. Any suggestions on wastegate size? What are you guys running/at what psi? Part of me wants to go twin 38 tial mvs's, but I'm concerned about creep while spraying. Thanks for the input.

check for excessive crank pressure and check oil drain for kinks or blackages

I'm running am HX35 7 blade on a gsr bottom end. Forged pistons and rods & ITR crank with a B16 head.It has a SPA cast top mount exhaust mani. It als has ITR cams, the vavles, springs, retainers is all done with head work. I took it to get it tuned and only made 363 Hp and 271 torque on 16 psi. I was wanting more, but that was it. the turbo kicks in @6000 rpms to 8500rpms. Can anyone tell me why the turbo kicks in so late and why i only the Hp and torque that i did???

Sounds like a poor tuner. Who tuned the car?? Also more info on the setup would help like injector size, fuel pump size, fuel used, intercooler size and type. exhaust size, compression of the motor.

Something doesn't sound right. Post up the dyno sheet. Did boost pressure drop in higher rpm?

Mikey from profunctions tune my car. I have a kteller 3"exhaust from turbo back. Injector size is 1000 pte, fuel pump is a walbro 255 with 93 gas. Inter cooler is a emotor 3" coupler. Dimensions are 32x28x2.5(i think). Compersion is 9-1. A buddy of mine did 440hp and 174 torque with a t70 ebay turbo...

As far as lag, I have a hx35 with a 12cm housing bolted to a splog manifold, ls bottom end with -12cc Wiesco pistons(8.5:1 comp), type r head and spring, gsr cams, 3" exhaust and charge pipes, ported aebs intake, 74mm tb, ect. I see 1lb of boost at 3k, 6lbs @ 4k, 12lbs @5-8k with a 12lb spring. Where this thing really shines is the 6-8k range. It just breaths so good. And this is all halfway tuned by me on ectune. So spool for a large turbo isnt bad at all. But it has a lot more tq in the lower rpms b4 it sees boost than when it was na. Maybe the back pressure from the turbo. But she screams! Hitting the dyno next weekend to see how it goes.

I bet your tune is real conservative. Just slapped mine on the dyno on Saturday. My first pull with a supper conservative basemap I made 288whp @ 14psi. At that same psi level and some tuning, I ended up with 328whp. Just by rolling in some timing. It starts making boost almost instanly. I make 1psi @ 2k...lol But for real, it makes 1psi and slowly builds. until about 5k. SO my logs from ectune show,
2k 1psi,
3k 3psi,
4k 7.5psi
4.5k 14.6psi
5k, 25psi
5.2k 26psi all the way to 8k where I let off.

I need some race gas and more boost now.

i got a hx35/hx40 and it is only a little lagger than a hx35. i get 17 psi in first gear and then it stays spooled threw all gears after that
